Like it spicy? Add ½ onion finely diced, 1 tsp hot sauce, and ½ red or yellow bell pepper, finely diced

Ingredients
  • 1 can black beans, drained & rinsed
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup wholewheat bread crumbs
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • pinch salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
  • Wholewheat Buns, split and toasted
  • Lettuce
  • Tomatoes
  • Pickles
  • Mayo
  • Mustard
  • Salsa
Instructions
  1. Mash beans in large bowl.
  2. Add garlic, seasoning and egg, mixing thoroughly.
  3. Stir in bread crumbs.
  4. Shape into 5 patties.
  5. Prepare skillet or griddle pan with low calorie cooking spray and brown patties for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  6. Serve in wholewheat bun or with a salad. Good with salsa!
