You can skip browning the TVP if you like. It's a texture thing - browned gives it more of a meat texture.
Yield: 6
  • 1 c TVP
  • ⅞ c boiling water
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 15 oz can black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 pkg McCormick¬†Taco with Chipotle & Garlic Skillet Sauce
  • 12 Soft corn shells
  • lettuce
  • tomato
  • guacamole
  • grated cheddar cheese
  • sliced black olives
  • sour cream
  1. Re-hydrate the TVP according to package directions. Generally boiling water or vegetable stock over dried TVP and allowed to rest for 10 minutes.
  2. In a saucepan on medium heat, add oil.
  3. When hot, add TVP and cook for 3-4 minutes or until lightly browned.
  4. Add black beans and top with McCormick Taco with Chipotle & Garlic Skillet Sauce.
  5. Cook until heated through, about 5 minutes.
  6. Serve with warmed soft corn shells and your choice of toppings.
