There are plenty of holiday specials out there. So many, that you may miss a few so we thought we’d tell you about GODMOTHERED, a new movie available exclusively on Disney+.
The first is GODMOTHERED. It’s the comedic story of Elanor, an inexperienced fairy godmother-in-training played by Jillian Bell who finds out that her chosen profession faces extinction. She sets out to prove that the world still needs fairy godmothers. She finds a mislaid letter written by a then distressed 10-year-old girl and decides she needs to find her to set things right. She leaves her magical world and finds herself a fish-out-of-water in the real world and comedy ensues as she tries to navigate this strange new place full of wonderous things.
She finds that the girl, Mackenzie, is now a 40-year-old singer mother played by Isla Fisher who’s working for a Boston news station. Mackenzie has given up hoping for her “Happily Ever After.” But that’s where Eleanor finds her purpose – she steps in to create a “happiness makeover” for Mackenzie whether she wants one or not. But Elanor’s magic gets away from her and Mackenzie’s world is turned upside down.
