I’ll admit that the Red Heart Super Saver yarn is not one that I use often. I find it much too rough and the yarn looks worn out after just one washing. However, I do use it for household goods like storage baskets because they’re not in contact with the skin, so the roughness doesn’t detract from the project. In fact, unwashed Super Saver adds some stiffness to my projects which I enjoy. I wish they’d create an ombre yarn in a better quality yarn.
They’ve also released a new line of Striped Yarn appropriately named Red Heart Super Saver Stripes. They’re like traditional cake yarns in that the colors abruptly change, a look I’m not fond of. The self-striping yarn is hugely popular though so I must be in the minority.
