Despite his family’s baffling generations-old prohibition on music, Miguel, voiced by newcomer Anthony Gonzalez, aspires to become an accomplished musician like Ernesto de la Cruz (voiced by Benjamin Bratt), his idol. Desperate to demonstrate his talent, Miguel finds himself in the beautiful and vivid Land of the Dead following a strange series of events. Along the way, he meets a charismatic trickster named Hector (voiced by Gael García Bernal). Together, they set off on a remarkable journey to discover the real story behind Miguel’s family history.
