I have so many crochet projects going that sometimes it feels overwhelming. When that happens, instead of sitting down and finishing one, I start a new project, but one I’m guaranteed to complete because it’s a do-it-in-a-weekend crochet project! Weekend crochet projects are usually simple designs or ones that use a big hook or chunky yarn. These crochet properties work together to let you truly accomplish a crochet project in just a few hours.
These quick and easy patterns are also perfect for beginners. Being able to complete a project in just a few hours can boost their confidence and get them going on a fun and inexpensive hobby!
Many of these weekend crochet pattern books are inexpensive, and others are free! Read below to find out how to get hundreds of crochet pattern books for at no cost!
Weekend Crochet Projects: Quick & Easy Patterns Even Beginners Can Complete in No Time!
The cat would love a new bed, and I love the tote bag. Check out this big hook book for some great ways to spruce up the house with fabric that would have gone in the trash.
I love the storage possibilities with this Big Hook Rag Crochet book! Plus, make them from leftover fabric or sheets and blankets headed to the dust bin.
I’m making a shawl very similar to this one with the same yarn right now! Only mine is taking much more time than a weekend, and it’s not much cuter. I should have tried this one instead!
We love this book by Tamara Kelly of MooglyBlog.com. She’s provided patterns for the dining room, living room, and anywhere else in the house that needs some attractive and smart storage solutions.
These 25 projects will keep you busy on cold winter days! An adorable collection of ski-style beanies and hats you can crochet in a weekend. Girls hat include a Paw Prints hat & attached scarf for cat lovers, pixie bonnet (shown on cover), her majesty hat (a warm beanie with a crown brim – super cute!), and slouchy striped rainbow hat (with optional ponytail opening) and matching scarf and giant pom-poms. For boys, there are several cute hats including a newsboy type hat with a brim, a “shredder” hat with mohawk styling in crazy colors, a voodoo hat (think Jack Skellington), and sweet striped hat and matching scarf pattern. Women’s hats include the Blue Diamond which as the name suggests has a diamond pattern down the front which is embellished with pearls, the Aspen with earflaps and pompoms, Serendipity a slouchy hat with ribbing and wave detailing, the City Slicker Set which is a turban-style hat and matching cowl. For the men in your life, the Summit has texture and style, the Ski Lift is for the man who likes to make people smile with its long draping style most often found on elves, the Peak which is as guy-friendly a hat as you can get, and the Natural Set which combines a hat and scarf with special stitches and two colors to create a unique and subtle pattern. I need to learn how to crochet! I tried a few years back and it was so relaxing, but I didn’t really get into it too much. I would love to spend some time on the weekends doing it!
That top piece is gorgeous! So big and full, it really has a rich feel. And those oversized button looking things make it even more fabulous! I would love to have one made for me to give to my MIL as a gift!
I used to love crocheting when I was younger, but now, I can’t seem to find the time to get back to that hobby. Now, I find happiness in looking at patterns and beautiful designs. Maybe if I get some yarn and crochet hooks this weekend, I can set aside some time for a quick project.
I stopped crocheting for over 20 years to raise kids…I still don’t have as much time as I wished I did, but I manage to complete and item or two now and then.

I cannot crochet to save my life but i wish i could. I never knew there were so many different kinds of different materials to crochet with.
It’s super easy! You should try it with one of the free video tutorials. I’m going to be doing one for a super simple scarf soon.
That chunky scarf is Tip Top! I have a chunky blanket that I hate to leave each morning. A scarf like that would make it much easier though 🙂
That big scarf with the buttons is too cute. I am sending this to a friend.

Buttons on scarves and hats are certainly hot right now! I just bought a few to add to some finished hats.

Those yarns are beautiful! Bulky yarns are my favorite to work with. The projects fly by, and that bulky look is one of my favorites.
I’ve never used bulky yarn – I need to buys some because there are so many great projects available for them.
LOVE! I love to crochet with big hooks and bulky yarn. Sure, it makes for fast projects, but it looks really good, too.
I absolutely love the big scarf with buttons. I really wish I knew how to crochet. I would make everything!
One day I want to sit down and learn how to crochet. I think I would really like it.
Someday I’m going to learn to knit – here’s hoping we don’t let someday slip by!
