Redmond Costco announcement: consideration provided; however, all opinions are my own.
It’s been a long time coming, but the new Redmond, Washington Costco store is opening on November 11, 2016. Residents in this community east of Seattle have been waiting since 1991 when the original plans included a store and the warehouse giant’s headquarters. But the location near Hiway 520 was problematic so the plans were scrapped and their offices were built in Issaquah.
Now 25 years later, the Redmond Costco store is opening at 7725 188th Ave NE. This new location is within an industrial area and not far from other large retailers to make shopping easy. The store will open at 8 a.m. on Friday, November 11, 2016, and offer new Executive Members a $20 Costco Cash Card or new Gold Star Members a $10 Costco Cash Card (please see the invitation below for restrictions and exclusions). This offer expires November 30, 2016.
Cosco Home and Business Services
Most people are familiar with the warehouse style of shopping Costco offers. I’ve been a member since the 1980’s, and in the last three decades, I’ve often left with my cart filled with a vast array of foodstuffs, household items, and electronic products. I’ve even purchased my eyeglasses and tires there. But did you know they provide value-based services as well? They do!

We haven’t purchased a new car for over 15 years, so it’s not surprising we didn’t know about the Costco Auto Program which gives members the ability to purchase a new or preowned car with prearranged pricing for a hassle-free buying experience. As someone who prefers this type of car shopping, that’s fantastic news! Plus Costco provides member support during the process and even after and you’ll receive additional perks – see the Costco Services webpage for complete details.
While I didn’t know about the car buying benefit, I have made use of Costco’s Travel services. Last fall I used their online service to reserve a rental car in Hawaii. Rental car companies require all providers to offer the same price, but Costco negotiates extras like car upgrades to give members added value. I loved the ease of reserving our car plus we received a free 2-tier upgrade to a full-size car for the same price as a compact, plus a second driver at no extra charge. Another couple we were traveling with paid more for their sub-compact than we did for our full-size car because they booked directly with the rental car company. I learned a valuable lesson about taking two minutes to check out Costco’s travel deals and just a few months later I needed a rental car in California for a business trip. Once again I got a great rate and an upgrade! I always stop by the Costco Travel web page before I book any vacation travel plans now. They have complete travel packages including cruises and theme parks offers.
I’m not the only family member who’s a Costco regular. My mother is retired and doesn’t have prescription health coverage. She was spending hundreds of dollars every month on her prescriptions before she discovered the convenience and affordability of Costco’s Pharmacy. She’s very happy with their service and especially thankful for their prices.

Who knew Costco offered so many amazing services! i wonder if there’s one near me?
Love Costco, so it’s n ice to hear of more locations opening! I’ve been wanting to try out their travel deals, I always grab their brochure – one day soon. 🙂
Such a costco fan! So glad to have one in Washington. I didn’t realize Costco had all those business services.
I wish we had a Costco here. All we have is a Walmart.
Wwwwaaaahhhhooooooo!! We love costco! And when I joined them I realised what a team I joined. Congrats that that city for getting one 🙂
I love that you can get so many services. And products in one place! It is the ultimate one stop shopping experience for multi tasking lovers!
Redmond is in for a real treat with this new store. We don’t like anywhere near there, but I remember how excited our community was when they first opened up a CostCo in our neighborhood.
We love Costco! They’re so much more than just a grocery store!
I’ve never shopped at Cotsco! But all my friends love it!
Really? I can’t imagine. I’ve shopped there since I was single, then married, then kids, and now empty nest/grandparents. It’s been a constant in our lives.
I absolutely adore Costco! I wish there was one closer to where I live!
We’re very spoiled here in Seattle. I have my choice of 5 of them all within 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the traffic. We’ve considered moving and wonder if we’d get used to not having so many choices.
I am so jealous that you have one opening nearby! I do not have one near me, and it is so sad! lol
As a mom of 3 and someone who constantly has guests over, I feel like I practically live at Costco. I love bulk pricing and their great deals!
You’re so lucky to have this store open! I have to travel a ways to get to one, but it’s worth it!
We have a Cosco that is about 40 miles away. I would love to have one closer to have more shopping options.
I wish we had a Costco closer to where I live. I love going to see what deals they have. We just make a day trip out of going.
We have a huge Costco in our area. It is a great place to stock up on all the essentials and more.
With a family of five, we live at Costco! It’s nice to see they are expanding!
We’ve been meaning to get a Costco membership but haven’t gotten around to it. There are actually a couple around in our area so it would totally be worth it!
Totally worth it! I’m shocked at how much cheaper it is to buy nuts, olives, olive oil and more in bulk. I think you can get a one-day pass. Call your local store and see if they still offer them or find a friend who can introduce you to the store.
Have fun!
I don’t have a Costco membership, but I have been meaning to get one. We have one right down the street. I love going with my parents when they come to town! I get all sorts of fun food that I wouldn’t otherwise get.
