I had the pleasure of visiting the San Jacinto Valley (SJV) a few months ago and I’ve been planning my return trip ever since. The SJV is conveniently located between Palm Springs Los Angeles and is an easy drive from several southern California airports. It’s an outdoor lovers paradise with so many adventures to take in including biking, paragliding, birding, fishing, boating, and hiking. But for those of us who prefer things a little more sedentary, SJV is rich in history with museums big and small, shopping, and fabulous food.
While I was there I visited the Victorian Bridal Museum, the only one in Southern California. I also visited the Ramona Bowl Amphitheatre, a beautiful outdoor amphitheater where they perform the longest running outdoor play, “Ramona”. I spent hours in the Western Science Center (WSC) which is home to Max, a largely intact Mastodon fossil that was discovered in Hemet in 1995 and who is now the WSC’s centerpiece.
That’s just a few of the things to see and do in Hemet and I’ll be sharing more information where to stay soon. If you’d like more information on how to get there, check out “Visit San Jacinto Valley: How to Get There.”
It sounds like an awesome place to visit when you’re in the area. I’m sure you had an amazing time there as well. I’d love to go with my daughter!
I’ve never been to SJV, but I would take a trip there just to visit “Max”. I’m a big fan of dinosaurs and visit fossils every chance I get.
I do love history and museums. I am betting that this would be a great place for me to visit. I will put it on my list.
I’ve never been to the San Jacinto Valley, but it sounds like there is a lot to do, and different things for everybody!

Never been to Cali before, but would love to! Sounds like it would be a great chat!
My husband was born and raised in Southern California, so I need to ask him if he is familiar with the SJV. Hopefully it is close enough to our family to take a detour sometime soon.

How fun is to try to win the three nights in San Jacinto Valley. I have been a mom for 7 years. I have a 7 years old and soon to be 2 years old daughters. Been busy and tired. Winning this could help me relax and recover those late night nursing my daughters.
