I’m proud to partner with CVS Pharmacy to promote their exclusive Gold Emblem and Gold Emblem abound snack lines. I am being sponsored by CVS Pharmacy for my posts and activities, but all opinions expressed are my own, and all product claims or program details shared should be verified at CVS.com or with the appropriate manufacturers.
In this Pinterest-driven world, if you wait until you can create the perfect moment, a distinctive date, or memorable party, you might miss out on some fantastic opportunities. In fact, instead of trying to pick the ideal time and location, I opt for spontaneity as much as possible when it comes to planning activities with my husband because I don’t know when the opportunity will present itself again. I’d rather have a thousand little moments in his company than a few overly crafted events.
That’s why when the sun unexpectedly gave us an afternoon drenched in its warm glow last week, I threw together a quick picnic for two and invited my husband to watch the sunset with me. The location was our deck, the sun umbrella for privacy from the neighbors, the food and tablecloth from our cupboard, and the pillows from our couch. Nothing fancy, no money spent, and two hours of chatting, snacking, and sharing of our day and thoughts for our future.
I can be spontaneous because I’ve stocked my cupboards with healthy snacks we both love so when serendipity gives us some time to connect, I have the perfect impromptu picnic supplies on hand and ready to enjoy.
Impromptu Picnic for Two: Making Thousands of Moments Together
I filled our picnic basket with fruits, nuts, and more. Here’s what was on the menu:
A lightly sweet Greek Yogurt coating on a salted pretzel. A nice combination of flavors with 190 calories per serving (14 pretzels)
These are crispy, salty, and addicting! They’re my favorite chip! Three flavors are combined into one fabulous bag. Potato, tomato, and spinach flavors. A 1oz serving has 130 calories.
Great right from the bag for snacking, but they’re also a delicious addition to my daily oatmeal. They’re also tasty in white chocolate chip cookies – yum! Note that these should be refrigerated after opening.
There are 2.5 servings of fruit and veggies in each bar. They are high in sugar, but it’s natural sugar, so I account for it in my meal plan and enjoy these as a dessert.
My husband loves this sweet and savory snack. A 1/2 cup has 150 calories and only 3 grams of sugar. I passed on them because of some ingredients I’ve chosen not to eat. I’d love to see them eliminate the silicon dioxide and find an alternative for Natural Smoke Flavor in the future.
These are great tasting bars! The Almond & Coconut has 200 calories, 3 grams of fiber, 9 grams of sugar, and 5 grams of protein! The Cranberry & Almond bar comes in at 190 calories, 3 grams of fiber, 13 grams of sugar, and 4 grams of protein.
The CVS Gold Emblem line contains snacks, candy, beverage and grocery items. This wide-range of delicious edibles all have one thing in common – a money back guarantee that you’ll love them! Plus they’re made without artificial flavors and preservatives.
