I was provided a Giraffe Razor Extension Handle to facilitate this review; all opinions are my own.
Billed as a gap between self-sufficiency and dependency, the Giraffe Razor Extension Handle works with your favorite disposable razor to provide a close shave for those of us with limited mobility and flexibility problems. That includes pregnant women, those who’ve suffered an injury, or anyone who needs a little help when it comes to shaving their legs. But you don’t need to have a disability to enjoy the extra reach the extension provides.
The Giraffe Razor Extension Handle is a simple tool that provides a way to use your existing razor but enhances it with the ability to pivot and extend so you can shave with ease. The handle comes with two razor attachments which accommodate most every razor on the market. I should mention that while both adaptors are included, my second one quickly disappeared into a junk drawer that was weeded, so it ended up in the trash. Perhaps writing on the adapter what it belongs to will keep family members from mistaking it for junk and tossing it. 🙂
The adapter doesn’t provide a firm grip which was a bit troublesome, but that also means that the razor isn’t tightly set into it either so it has some give when you run the razor across your skin thus eliminating the dreaded razor cut.
I found the assistance of the extension handle to be perfect, and I was able to shave my legs in the shower standing up and without having to prop a leg against a slippery wall or doubling over which can be problematic for me since I lose my balance easily.
Giraffe Razor Extension Handle Benefits
The Giraffe adds from 15 to 20 inches to the length of your razor which can eliminate the need to bend at the waist. The pivoting head can be set at a 30°, 45° or 90° angle and it can be adjusted quickly so you can change it as necessary throughout your shave. The handle has a non-slip grip and a wrist lanyard.
The Giraffe is easy to use: just lock in the razor, adjust the length, choose the desired angle, and you are ready to shave!
The Giraffe Razor Extension Handle is available for $29.99 on Amazon.com and Giraffebathandbody.com
This sounds amazing! It is perfect for disabled and pregnant women. I would love to use it myself!
When my mom had her knee replaced recentky, she had a hard time with things I just hadn’t considered. This is such a great idea for people like her who may find it difficult to bend or reach. Got to keep this in mind!
Finally, lol. This is one of those things you see and wonder why it took so long. 🙂 Hurray though that it’s here. I could use one. It’s hard to get the back of my leg I guess because I always have a little strip I somehow missed even though I deliberately try not to miss it. 😉
This is a fantastic idea. It would be amazing for my Mom. It can be hard for her to shave her legs.
I would have LOVED to have had one of these the past 8 weeks. I had surgery back in January and it’s been hard to shave. This would have made things so much easier!
Don’t you hate when you find something after you don’t need it anymore! Glad you’re feeling better.
This is a fantastic invention for sure, maybe it will cut down on me cutting myself so often. Thanks for sharing as I had not even heard of this extension handle before!
This sounds super useful for making shaving easier. I really like how you can adjust it to fit your needs.
OMG…I need this right now. I’m in my 3rd trimester of pregnancy and can’t bend over to save my life. My legs look like a garden and it’s 72 degrees outside.
It works great!
This sounds like it would making shaving a lot easier. No more trying to wriggle into weird positions.
This looks like a great product. This would be perfect for my mom when her back is bothering her.
This would have been PERFECT when I was pregnant. I couldn’t reach anything!
No way! Every woman needs this gadget in her arsenal!
That is an absolutely genius product. I know I hate to be bent over for minutes on end trying to get to every hair.
Ya’ll are going to hate me but I rarely have to shave my legs…but with that being said, I can see how this would be extremely helpful and wonder if my husband could use it for his back. Shhh, don’t tell him I said that! 🙂
Giggle….my lips are sealed 🙂
That sounds like a great idea. My mom is disabled and would LOVE something like this.
