I can’t even think about decorating for the holidays until I remove the everyday decor and clean all my surfaces. Sure, it’s a lot of work, but it feels so much better when everything is dust and fingerprint free, even if it only lasts a few days.
I always use chemical-free cleaners, and I’ve even tried mixing my own DIY home cleaners from vinegar, but I can’t seem to do it without making a mess. I end up with it all over my hands and I stink of vinegar the rest of the night. I’m not a fan of smelling like a pickle, so Four Monks™, the first cleaning vinegar that’s packaged ready-to-spray, works for me. It’s a non-toxic cleaner that can be used on appliances, the floor, countertops and more. It’s my go-to cleaner for both quick cleanups and deep cleaning.
“Dirty Doesn’t Have a Prayer against Four Monks Cleaning Vinegar”
Four Monks™ Cleaning Vinegar is available in Fresh Citrus Mint Scent or Aroma Controlled. Both are a 20% stronger than the vinegar you probably have in your pantry and that’s what gives it its amazing cleaning power. The vinegar scent is still there and I find the Fresh Citrus Mint much too strong, but I have a really strong sense of smell, so the Aroma Controlled is my choice. Both disappated in a short amount of time and leave no scent behind.
The duo are available in three sizes – the 24 oz spray I used as well as a 64 oz and 128 oz jug. They’re easy to use – just spray and wipe – though rinsing is recommended for many cleaning applications.
Four Monks Cleaning Vinegar: How to Use It
Four Monks uses food-grade vinegar so it’s safe to use around food. In fact, you can clean your coffee pot with it or wash your fruit and veggies. But it’s strong enough to clean your bathroom, kitchen, laundryroom, and more. Use it in the garage to clean your car windows, tires, and interior.
There are suggestions available on every bottle including instructions on how to clean your shower build-up, shower curtain, and fixtures. It can also be used to unclog a showerhead – place a plastic bag around the showerhead, fill it with vinegar, and then tie it closed tightly so it doesn’t leak. Allow it to soak for several hours (the time is dependent on the amount of gunk you’ve got stuck in there), and then rinse it clean.
They also suggest taking care of your laundry stains – everyinig from coffee, tea, soda, and hot chocolate stains. It looks like I’m pretty normal when it comes to what I spill down the front of my shirt! Now I know that those common stains can be taken care of naturally.
Thankfully Four Monks cuts grease in no time. I was up until 2am making braised shortribs last night and though I thougt I’d cleaned the kitchen well, I found that grease splatters were covering the top of the stove. In my rush to get to bed I’d missed them. But a few sprays of the cleaning vinegar and they were gone.
The trick to cleaning with vinegar is to use two cloths – one wet to scrub and another dry to buff to a shine. If you skip the buffing, you’ll find it streaks. A tiny bit of elbow grease will reward you with a brilliant shine and you’ll have done it without killing the earth or your braincells.
Hits & Tips for Using Vinegar In Your Home
There aren’t many places that this quality cleaning vinegar can’t be used, though I did notice the warning not to use Four Monks Cleaning Vinegar on granite or marble surfaces after I cleaned some granite tiles with it. Thankfully, they weren’t harmed, but if I had a large slab of expensive granite I’d be sure to head the warning. i love cleaning with vinegar. I mostly use it to clean our microfiber couch. I wonder if this product would work on it as well. I usually mix vinegar and water in a spray bottle when using it to clean so I’m sure this the Cleaning Vinegar you have reviews would do a great job.
I’ve made it a goal to get rid of all the chemicals in our house, so I use a lot of vinegar. I love that this is prepackaged and that it smells good!
This is a great alternative to highly toxic chemical cleaners. I would love to give it a try!

My mom always used vinegar for cleaning. It works really well.

I totally need to try this. My stove top has stains that are stuck despite the different cleaners I’ve tried.
This would be so useful to keep around the kitchen. I’d definitely be using it to wash fruits and veggies for recipes.
I clean with vinegar too and love the idea of these products. So many products smell so toxic.
I have actually been making my own cleaning supplies made with vinegar. I like knowing that I am using less chemicals to clean up my house.
Four Monks sounds great. I’ve always hated how toxic most cleaners are. Even the mildest ones are nasty!
I’d love to give this stuff a try. I’m always looking for all-natural cleaning supplies. Thanks!
I clean with vinegar a lot, too. I like that it’s natural.
