I’m a huge fan of buying gifts that give back and so are the folks behind Bears For Humanity™. This amazing company gives away one bear for every bear purchased, and you get to decide where your donated bear goes! They’re assembled in the US by Welfare to Work participants and these adorable bears are organic and reasonably priced so they’re affordable.
The Story Behind Bears For Humanity
About the Bears
Bears For Humanity™ plush are available in two sizes. A 16” Premium Bear ($39.99) and 7” Baby Bear (19.99) and they come in five color choices: Sammie is iconic teddy bear beige, Sassie is pink, Snowie in white, Snugglie is chocolate brown, and Sweetie is blue. They’re created from the softest cotton and incredibly huggable.
16″ Jointed Version
7″ Baby Version
The larger teddy bear is meant for kids ages 3 and up, the smaller non-jointed bear is safe for babies. Both are made from 100% Certified Organic fabric that’s a blend of 55% hemp and 45% cotton which makes them naturally antibacterial and hypoallergenic. The polyfill filling is made from 100% recycled material created through materials collected through domestic recycling programs and made exclusively for Bears for Humanity in the US. They are naturally antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That’s something polyester plush toys can’t match.
Each donated bear is personally delivered to the charity you choose. The current options are Toys for Tots, the Expect Miracles Foundation, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, One Simple Wish, Save the Children, and Semper Fi.
Bears For Humanity™ wants to change the world, one bear at a time and I’m happy to help them in their efforts. These bears are my new go-to baby shower gift because every child deserves the goodness of an organic best friend.
Why Organic Matters
When it comes to buying toys, it’s imperative that anything my granddaughter will hold close is made from organic materials. That’s especially important during her first year when she’ll be sucking and biting on her toys. That’s why I’ve already purchased a second Baby Bear to be sure she always has one handy.
Why organic? Because certified organic cotton is grown with all-natural farming and processing and without harmful pesticides and fertilizers. This is better for the environment and our children. Plus organic cotton is smoother and feels fantastic.
