Halloween used to be a big deal around here. When the kids were little, we went a quite crazy with the outdoor decor. One year, my husband built a coffin and then he lay in it to scare the kids who came by. Creepy cobwebs were everywhere, scary sound effects were piped from the kitchen window, and I dressed up to hand out candy to the trick or treaters.

As the kids got older, and the trick or treaters who came to visit trickled to one or two all night, we stopped the pranks. But now that our first grandchild is on the way we’re excited about being able to recreate some of the Halloween fun we had with our kids.
