I experienced the Monterey Bay Inn as part of a Cannery Row familiarization trip; all opinion are my own.
Monterey Bay Inn: Beautiful Views In Every Direction
San Carlos Beach was named for the cannery that once stood on the location and whose concrete footings as well as those of the E.B. Gross Cannery make fascinating tide pools for exploration. Destroyed by fire in the 1920’s, Sal Ventimiglia’s California Frozen Fish Company was built over the remnants but it fell into disrepair and is among the ruins as well. The Beach is a popular diving location, and you’ll find almost as many divers as sea life bobbing in the water. The sandy beach is littered with rocks and concrete and on most days a walk to the end of the beach nearest the Monterey Bay Inn rewards you with plenty of privacy.
The Inn is home to 49 spacious guest rooms that open out into breathtaking views of the ocean. Their boutique rooms offer guests private balconies, granite bathrooms, and complimentary breakfast that is conveniently delivered directly to your door. A 47-inch television awaits for your use while wi-fi is readily available whenever you need it. A roof-top jacuzzi offers fantastic views and an interior oasis with jacuzzi and fire pit provides an excellent place to gather after dark.
Monterey Bay Inn: Panoramic Oceanfront Room
The Panoramic Oceanfront Room affords its guest a spectacular view of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary while offering the comforts of a king size bed, electric fireplace, 42-inch flat screen, and large two-person bathroom complete with jetted tub and separate shower. The panoramic room also brings the San Carlos Beach, Monterey’s Boat Harbor, and Monterey Coast Guard Pier to the guest’s front door.
Where to Stay on Cannery Row: Monterey Bay Inn
With four other types of room accommodations that include the Deluxe Oceanfront Room with Fireplace, Oceanfront, Ocean Harbor, and Cannery Row Rooms, the Monterey Bay has a room to suit even the pickiest of guests with all the modern comforts of home. Complimentary Bushnell Binoculars are provided, and an in-room honor bar is stocked with sweet treats, hats, and more.
