Laundry. I know most people hate it, but I love it. I love piles of clean clothes waiting to be folded. Those piles transformed into neat stacks of colorful clothing make me happy. Oh sure, there’s a lot of the laundry process to hate. Dirty, stinky clothes, especially during the teen years when they were playing sports – oh, the smells and stains that came out of those boys’ bedrooms and into my laundry room – yuck! But after a few hours they found clean and folded clothes in their place. It’s something as their mom I loved doing for them.
The laundry also tells the story of our family. Where we’ve been is splashed across the fronts of the souvenir t-shirts we brought home and even stains remind me of weekends painting the house, playing games in the backyard, camping mishaps, and more. The messes we’ve gotten into have made life fun. We put fun first and stains second, and I wouldn’t change that for anything.
It turns out we’re not alone. Many families have embraced the fun and Maytag, a trusted name for decades in home and commercial appliances, understands that American families want to get dirty. They’ve created washers and dryers that can clean up the everyday messes we create.
Maytag #MyFilthiestPlay Contest
Maytag is the official washer and dryer of the MLB, and they’d like ball players of all ages to upload a video or photo of their filthiest play on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #MyFilthiestPlay. It doesn’t matter if you play baseball, softball or tee-ball as long as you’re playing. From Little League, work teams, intramural teams, etc. Your uploaded photo puts you in the running for a chance to win weekly prizes which include a Maytag Top Load Washer and Dryer pair. Plus one grand prize winner will win a washer and dryer plus a trip to the World Series! Just show off your worst grass and dirt stains as you slide, dive, and more on the field, and you’ll be entered to win.
Each Sunday until September 20th, one video or photo will be chosen by the baseball pros at MLB to be awarded the weekly prize. They’re looking for power and grit as well as style.
