LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack

It’s probably safe to say that LEGO creators took a look at the popularity of games like Skylanders and Disney Infinity, because they’ve created their own game toy meets video game world named LEGO Dimensions. To play this new game, you’ll need a LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack which includes the LEGO Dimensions video game, a LEGO Toy Pad, bricks to build the LEGO Gateway, three LEGO mini figures (Wyldstyle, Batman, Gandalf), and a LEGO Batmobile vehicle. Dimensioins is available for all popular video game systems – Xbox One  PlayStation 4 Nintendo Wii U Xbox .360 and PlayStation 3.

LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack Release Date: September 27, 2015 – Available for pre-order now – $99.96

The game was created for kids ages 7 to 14, though I suspect we’ll see players both younger and older. To play, just build the minifigure heroes and start up the game. Then follow the in-game build instructions to use the included loose bricks to create the LEGO Gateway. Once it’s placed on the LEGO Toy Pad, you’re ready to go. The Gateway is the vortex to the various LEGO® worlds and it’s up to you to help Batman™, Gandalf™ and Wyldstyle™ save their friends as well as all of LEGO humanity.

While you don’t need anything else to play the game, of course, LEGO created Level Packs, which create a whole new mission-based game level, along with a minifigure, a vehicle and a gadget to build and use in-game. There are also Team Packs with a pair of minifigures plus a gadget and vehicle for each, and they have their own in-game abilities. If that’s not enough, they’ve also added Fun Packs with one minifigure and either a gadget or a vehicle.
