We are huge LEGO lovers in this house! My almost-five-year-old plays with them daily (current faves: anything Ninjago– or superhero-related), and I love all the creative sets and the opportunity to watch his mind work as he puts them together. I know there are millions of other families like ours out there — so when I came along the inside scoop on what’s happening with LEGO this summer, I had to share!

LEGO Family

This might possibly be my most favorite LEGO discovery yet! LEGO Family is a whole Pinterest-esque site dedicated to helping you incorporate your favorite LEGO and DUPLO pieces into parties, games, and regular life.

They’ve got instructions for building cool creations, crafts, and projects to make using your bricks. Plus they provide tips for awesome birthday parties based on your favorite LEGO, and DUPLO sets (free superhero printables, anyone?) and lots more.

LEGO Fourth of July

LEGO Master Builders will join thousands of builders on July 1 to construct an 8 feet by 14 feet US flag made entirely out of LEGOs to honor American innovation and invention. Stay tuned for more about this one! What a cool way to celebrate our nation’s birthday.

LEGO KidsFest

This interactive traveling LEGO extravaganza travels throughout North America, bringing entertainment and hands-on fun to builders of all ages. This year, the LEGO KidsFest will be in Austin, TX on September 4-6 — it’s where true LEGO fans can participate in group builds, meet and learn from real Master Builders, see dozens of large-scale and miniature models made totally out of bricks, and of course get hands on with their own creative building! Visit the LEGO KidsFest website for more info on buying tickets.

New LEGO’s in Stores

We can’t wait to try out the Ninjago Airjitzu Flyers that launch your mini figures into flight! LEGO Elves explore mythical lands and enchanted stories. The LEGO Ferris Wheel looks like an awesome set for your more advanced builders and of course, the LEGO Juniors Suitcases are the perfect thing to bring on all your summer road trips and adventures!

LEGO On the Road

Heading to ComicCon in July? Make sure you stop by the LEGO booth to see the newest creations or check out the LEGO Americana Roadshow this summer and fall. See if it’s stopping in your city by visiting the LEGO Americana Roadshow schedule page.

That’s the LEGO news for now. I’ll be sharing more soon!
