Create Your Own Five Star Vacation in Puerto Rico Travel Puerto Rico: A 5-Star Vacation Destination - No Passport Required! ad

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Puerto Rico, The All-Star Island for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Earlier this year we missed out on a vacation because we don’t have passports, but silly me, I forgot we don’t need one to travel to Puerto Rico! Darn it! Travel to Puerto Rico is as easy as going to any state in the US; it’s just a plane ride away. Most Puerto Ricans speak English, and there’s no need for foreign currency since they’re a US territory, the US dollar is all you’ll need.

Now I’m kicking myself for missing out on some world-class attractions and 270 miles of coastline with some of the most incredible beaches in the world. Several of them made the Travel Channel’s Top 10 Beaches.

Puerto Rico: Relaxing or Thrill-Seeking – Choose Your Adventure!

I won’t make that mistake again, and Puerto Rico is now on my must-visit list of places to go. But what’s my idea of a 5-star vacation? I’d spend my time in Puerto Rico learning more about the area and its culture. I’d go on the Old San Juan Architectural Walking Tour, the Flavors of San Juan Food and Culture Tours (cooking classes, food tasting, and history walk), the Vieques Historical and Cultural Tour, the All-Day Trip to Ponce, the West Birding Trip (I would love to see what amazing birds live here!), the Castillo San Felipe del Morro Architectural Walking Tour, and round it out with plenty of beach combing!

While my idea of a 5-star vacation is lots of relaxation, art, and history, I realize it’s not for everyone. But don’t worry, there are plenty of things for you thrill seekers too! In fact, Puerto Rico has everything from the must-see Camuy Caverns and climb to the clouds in El Yunque, the only rainforest managed by the US National Park Service. Or go horseback riding, sail the sea in a catamaran or snorkel below. Want something even more adventuresome? How about ziplining, or taking an ATV off-roading, rappelling inside a cave, or spear fishing.
