Over the last 27 years, this house has seen a lot of vacuums come and go. They’ve changed as our lifestyle has changed. First, the plush carpeting we had installed when we bought the house required a canister vacuum with a lot of power and the ability to clean stairs. Later we removed the carpet and put in engineered hardwoods making that canister vacuum obsolete. We replaced it with a variety of floor cleaners, brooms, stick vacuums, and handheld cordless models.
None of them worked well for our new engineered hardwood floor’s needs. But we found a fantastic vacuum/scrubber that cleans and vacuums at the same time which was love, but it can’t do the stairs, nor does it get into the corners and under furniture. It also can’t clean between the couch cushions or our new upholstered ottoman. For that, we used a hand vacuum that is notoriously weak and unable to sustain a charge. We’ve had to replace it three times in the last ten years.
Dyson V6 Absolute Cordless Vacuum Available at Best Buy
When I told my husband I’d be replacing that hand vac with a Dyson V6 Absolute Cordless Vacuum he said, “Why bother. There isn’t a battery-powered vacuum that works as well as a corded unit.” I told him that Dyson was about to prove him wrong.
I told him that this new vacuum was a Dyson, and it was about to prove him wrong. The moment I told him it was a Dyson, he quickly became interested in giving it a try. That’s because we have several Dyson products and all of them have been unbelievably fantastic.
After unpacking the vacuum and charging it, he put it to the test. First my simply placing his hand over the suction tube to feel its power and then by sprinkling almonds and other typical floor debris for our home. Of course, the Dyson V6 Absolute Cordless Vacuum passed all of his tests, and he had to admit he was wrong. Dyson has created a cordless vacuum that has the suction power of a corded model.
Sure, the Dyson Absolute is pricey compared to most standard cordless vacuums, but that’s because it works. Plus they have amazing customer service, and I expect it to last years longer than the handheld cordless it’s replacing.
The Dyson V6 Cordless Vacuum comes complete with several cleaning heads. The Dyson Fluffy head sucks up large dirt and fine dust at the same time – it provides powerful cleaning without scratching your floor. Its second head includes a direct-drive motor that gives it 75% more brush bar power than even the popular Dyson DC59 Animal which means it agitates your carpet pile to get the deep down dirt. The stair cleaning head is my favorite – it’s small enough to clean the stairs but includes an agitator to do it quickly and thoroughly. I use the same head for my couch cushions.
The unit also includes a charging base that is mounted on the wall making it easy to grab for quick cleanups and it’s bagless so nothing to buy. Just open and dump! The V6 digital motor is strong and the 2-tier Radial™ Cyclone Technology keeps the dust a
nd dirt inside the bin and doesn’t fling it back into the air.
Changing heads is simple to do as is cleaning the bin. The entire process is fantastically easy. The Dyson V6 Absolute Cordless Vacuum weighs so little that cleaning up is no longer a chore. It’s the perfect model for our home and one we’re happy to have at our fingertips for deep cleaning and light touch ups.
I’ve heard good things about Dysons before this post! Several years ago we bought a new vac and I hated shopping for one. When you spend that kind of money on something you want to feel good about it lasting you. The brand we chose has been good to us but the next time we would consider a Dyson along with our current brand again. 🙂
