- 1 Double Cheeseburger, hot
- 1 small fry, hot
- 1 large soft drink
- Prepare a tall drinking glass with the addition of a soda spoon (which you'll need to get to the chunks in the bottom) and a colorful straw. Cut through a pickle slice ¾'s of the way and then place it on the rim of the glass. Set aside.
- With a sharp knife, quarter the cheeseburger making sure to cut through all layers.
- Drop the cheeseburger pieces into the bottom of a blender.
- Add fries.
- Cover with approximately 8oz (or about ⅓) of your large soda.
- Blend for 15-20 seconds or until the consistency of wallpaper paste; add more soda if necessary.
- Pour it into the prepared glass and enjoy right away. The Double Cheeseburger Smoothie is best served still warm!
- Don't eat fast food? No problem. This same recipe can be made with any frozen, delivered, or homemade recipe.
- Please note: *A burger, fries, and soda were harmed in the creation of this video - this vegetarian sacrificed them because no way was I going to blend my tofu & veggies!
Brush the Ones You Want to Keep & See the Dentist To Keep the Ones You Brush!
What?!? You think my recipe is disgusting? Well, if you’re one of the 150+ million Americans that hasn’t visited a dentist in the last year, this could be your future. Oh sure, I know what you’re thinking. You’re too busy, you can’t find a dentist, or you think your co-pay is too high. How do I know? Because I’m doing the same darn thing, and I know better, and I bet you do too.
Oral health should be a priority. That’s because numerous health issues that can be caused by poor teeth and gum care. A thorough check-up twice a year by a dentist can help prevent gum disease and tooth loss. These two problems can work collectively to take away the pure pleasure of biting into your favorite double cheeseburger and fries. Now that’s sad.
It takes a team – you and your dentist – to be sure your teeth and gums are the healthiest they can be. Brushing and flossing are important, but it isn’t enough.
Aspen Dental: A Taste of the Future Featuring Danica Patrick
After creating my “recipe” and checking out Aspen Dental’s “A Taste of the Future,” program with Danica Patrick, I’m rethinking my careless ways. In her video, the successful NASCAR driver, shares how the foods we love may be foods we’ll no longer be able to enjoy if we don’t step up and make oral care a priority. Danica slips behind the wheel of a food truck and serves up her version of “fast food” in a smoothie-style “Easy Eats” way to unsuspecting customers. It’s a chance to demonstrate what a future could look like if dental care is pushed aside and forgotten. So how did my All-Amerian Double Cheeseburger smoothie taste? I have no idea. I don’t eat hamburgers, liquefied or not, so there was no way that thing was touching my lips. In fact, my dogs wouldn’t even eat it. Now that’s bad!
But my little experiment has me back on the straight and narrow path toward taking care of my oral health. No more putting the task off, it’s time to get this my new dentist chosen and an appointment on the books.

Have you made your next dental appointment yet?
Now this is interesting. Not sure if I would be brave enough to try it.
Ummm…you had me going – I’m thinking ‘wha…’ — this is not a recipe I’m saving – but I do want to save my teeth! I love that Danica Patrick on this important and fun vid. Great post!!

Well, you totally got my attention with that!
EEww…. I’ll be brushing a bit better from now on for sure! 😉
It’s a great visual for sure….it’s got me paying better attention to my teeth!
Have your fries, burger and smoothie all in one! I like that idea!
If only it wasn’t so disgusting 🙂 It smells HORRIBLE.
I have always been careful to take good care of my teeth. I have been teaching my kids dental care ever since they were little.
Dental hygiene is so important!! I am so thankful that this was not a real recipe that sounded so nasty!
What?!?! It’s a real recipe! 😉
I was second guessing this recipe as I read through this post! I think dental hygiene is super important!
What? But I worked so hard on it 😉
YUCK! Oral hygiene is definitely important and I love the creative way you went about bringing this important issue to our attention. I will be sharing this post with my children!
I think it’s a great visual for kids for sure!
I was reading that and cringing. Sadly, my son’s friend would actually eat this
Oh, I think the smell would make them hurl. 🙂
I must admit, I was worried this was going to be a real recipe! Thank goodness it was to make the point on the dental side of life!
It’s a real recipe 🙂 Giggle.
ha, ha, ha… now that is disgusting. Got your point, ha! Definitely need to make a dental appt.
It’s a great visual that sticks in the head for sure!
Oh my freakin word is this nasty!!!! Oh man, you totally got that point across!..EWWW
Well then, my work here is done 😉
Oh gross! I almost threw up in my mouth on that one. Good thing I keep the old chompers in good health!
Oops, sorry about that 😉
how unique! I don’t think I could ever drink a cheeseburger, that would be so weird. I am really weird about textures! Great way to raise awareness about your dental needs.
Nope, I could never, ever, ever, drink that.
I’m pretty sure that is one way I never want to eat a cheeseburger and fries. Maybe I need to show this to my littles so they brush better.
That would work I’m sure!
That is definitely different. I love cheeseburgers, but I am not sure if I love them in liquid form.
