The LiteGear City Tote carried our gear perfectly. Great for sightseeing!
I am a sucker for any product that’s made with our world in mind and that’s the first reason I love this LiteGear™ City Tote. But being green isn’t enough, it has to be well-made, durable, practical, and work for my lifestyle. Thankfully, the City Tote fits all of my criteria and more.
But before I tell you more about the City Tote, let me tell you a little about what makes them earth friendly. They’ve solved one of my largest pet peeves – the buildup of water bottles in our landfills. Yes I know, bottled water is convenient, but there are so many hazards associated with the creation of them plus the enormous amount of waste they leave behind. I foresee a time in the future when they’re banned, but until then, fabulous companies like LiteGear take those discarded bottles and turn them into useful items therefore recycling them and keeping the from becoming more waste.
But when you touch the LiteGear City Tote you’ll never guess its origins. It’s soft and downy to the touch and feels luxurious. The tote has very little form or structure to it, it takes on the form of whatever you put inside. With it’s four pockets and large main compartment, it made the most perfect camera bag for our recent trip to Sedona. I stored my lenses, a spare battery, my smartphone, and a small tripod inside and I still had room for a snack, my reusable water bottle, and my umbrella.

The LiteGear City Tote works fantastically for an easy-to-use camera bag on the go.
When I’m out taking photos I want something that isn’t going to create back strain. I also want a bag that can be carried several ways – cross-body, one shoulder, front, back, side, etc., so that I can get to my equipment easily while wearing the bag and holding my camera and to give my back and shoulders a lot of variety so they’re less likely to become strained. This bag weighs well under a pound so it doesn’t add to my load. My last tote for this purpose was a vegan leather tote that weighed 5 pounds before I put the first item into it. I’ll never make that mistake again! The bag also has a Velcro strap so it can be attached to my telescoping computer case so it will make a fantastic carry-on bag for my next trip.

The unisex design is perfect for men and women (I think my husband wishes my purple raincoat was too).
The City Tote’s design is perfectly uni-sex so my husband didn’t complain about carrying a too feminine bag for me and he too liked the versatility in the way that it could be carried. We carried that bag all over Sedona. It came along for sightseeing, hill climbing, window shopping, and more. It kept my gear protected from sun, rain, and even snow.

So many ways to carry the LiteGear City Tote – it’s a fantastic bag!
The City Tote is just one bag in the full line of LiteGear™ products. All of them are designed to be durable but lightweight with updates to support the way we live now. From carry-on rolling bags, garment bags, suitcases an more, they’re creations are making a change in the way we think about our luggage.

It’s so cool that they can make a bag from water bottles! I love it! This would be perfect for a day of the Disney parks.
Very perfect for the parks – filled in the morning with lunch, drinks and snacks to save money. And then filled with souveniers on the way out of the park 🙂
I really appreciate any type of recycling or upcycling and just had an in depth discussion about this with my children on Earth Day. I will be sharing your post and this tote with them!
Thanks for sharing! I still hate water bottles and wish people would only use them in emergencies, but until that day, here’s one way to slow the parade of bottles to the landfill.

Fabulous price for sure. I was expecting it to be much more.

Isn’t it amazing the things that they can make out of recycled plastic bottles these days? Who would have thought that you could make a tote bag out of them? Especially one that is that good looking and practical!
Especially when it feels nothing like a recycled fabric. It’s so soft.
This is so cool! This bag is the perfect example for why we should all recycle.
