The wedding business is a multi million dollar industry. The average American will spend $30,000 on their wedding according to CNN. That number seems outrageous to me since it’s just one day in your life.

When my husband and I planning our wedding, we agreed to keep it small and affordable. The areas in which we really wanted to invest our money was on our photographer, honeymoon, rings, and a dress for me and suit for him. Both of which we’d be able to wear afterwards. We couldn’t imagine spending hundreds of dollars on a wedding dress that would hang in the closet forever after and a tux rental that cost about the same price as the suit we bought.

We spent our money on the things that we can look back on daily and truly make us appreciate our wedding and marriage and we haven’t regretted it a bit.

SHANE CO. – For Three Generations

My husband purchased our rings from the Shane Co. after doing some research about where to buy. He read reviews about their service and selections Those reviews convinced him to make the hour drive to the Lynnwood, WA store to select my engagement ring and our wedding rings.

Little did he know, but his own father made the same trip (though the store was initially located in downtown Seattle) over thirty years before when he purchased his future wife’s rings there as well! But that’s not the only family member who’s wearing a ring from the Shane Co., it turns out we’re a three-generation family of the Shane Co jewelry wearers! My husband’s grandfather purchased her a new engagement ring after 30+ years when her rings had to be cut off from them as well.

My in-laws are still loyal Shane Co. shoppers. As a gift on my wedding, they gave me a pearl bracelet, very much like the one my Mother-in-law received from her parents on her wedding day.I think that the fact that it’s still their go-to jewelry store speaks volumes about the service this company gives to it’s customers and I plan on buying future jewelry from there as well.

My husband and I have loved the service and our rings so much. To this day I will stare at my rings and just smile because I love them!

SHANE CO. – PHOTO SWEEPSTAKES 2014

Now that you have jewelry and Shane Co. on the brain what better way to get your own piece of jewelry than with a photo contest?! Until October 27th Shane Company is doing a photo sweepstakes and the winner will receive $1000 gift card. I can think of several things I wouldn’t mind purchasing for $1000 from a jewelry store.

In order to be eligible to win you must live in the US and be 18 years or older. You can enter via Facebook or mail until October 27 (Official rules available on the contest page).

To enter fill out the competition form completely and send it in with a selfie of you and your Shane Co. jewelry. It doesn’t have to be a selfie of your face, but more a selfie of you wearing the jewelry. How simple is that? It’s time to make those selfie’s pay! It’s your chance to win a gift card – it sounds like a pretty easy deal to me.

What would you do with a $1000 gift card?
