Siri & Cortana: Group Therapy
Is your phone really that into you? You can find out at Group Therapy then learn more about the Nokia Lumia 635.[w8_divider style=”dashed” margin_top=”20px” margin_bottom=”20px”]
You’ve probably seen the commercials pitting Apple’s Siri against Window’s Cortana. Not only are they funny, but they’re quite accurate. Cortana is the more advanced personal assistant. How do I know? Because our blogger Alex reviewed this feature a few months ago and he’s been a Cortana convert since ( read CORTANA: My Personal Smartphone Assistant Does it All).
While Alex uses Cortana because he’s forgetful, it’s just one way this little assistant can lend a helping hand. She tell you when it’s time to meet the kids at the bus, lets you know when it’s time to make a dentist appointment or send a birthday card to your mother-in-law, sends an email when you leave the office to let your husband know you’re on your way, and so much more. Cortana, powered by Bing, can do this because she integrates with lots of 3rd party apps you’re probably already using, like FourSquare, HuluPlus, Twitter, LinkedIn, Dictionary.com,and more. This integration allows Cortana to access the information you’ve provided to the 3rd party to trigger other actions. She also learns your likes and dislikes so the information she offers fits your preferences. The more you use her, the more she learns what you want.
Using Cortana just takes one finger- click & tell her what you need to do, want to know, or need to accomplish. This ease of use lets you go on about juggling your busy life; she’s the ultimate in convenience. The possibilities are endless for automating your home and work life with the help of your new, virtual personal assistant.
So sorry Siri, you just can’t compete against Cortana.
