AT&T stores offer a variety of wearable technologies for consumers interested in health and fitness including activity/sleep trackers, smart watches, pulse monitors, arm bands, and much more. I was provided a Jawbone UP24 Wireless Activity Tracker to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.
I attended an Spring into Fitness event hosted by AT&T at the upscale David Barton Gym in Bellevue, WA a few weeks ago. The gym is outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment, in a boutique fitness atmosphere, complete with valet parking and onsite childcare. The Bellevue (Seattle) location is also one of the DBG locations with a dedicated Pilates Studio in addition to Pilates Mat classes. They also provide yoga and personal fitness classes plus a sauna, fight training, and more.
I got the chance to workout with one of their world-class trainers who got my heart pumping and my body in motion. My session was comfortable and not overcrowded. The gym feels spacious and the staff helpful and knowledgeable.
With a motto of “Look Better Naked,” you’ll be challenged with activities and classes with names like “Blood, Sweat’n Tears” and “Pain & Pleasure.” If you’re ready to get “ASSolutely ABBulous”, then the David Barton Gym is the right place for you.[alert-announce] David Barton Gym | 11111 Ne 8th St Ste 201, Bellevue, WA 98004 | Phone: (425) 453-7887 | email: [email protected] | Seattle/Bellevue Class Schedule – Additional locations in New York, Miami, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Boston – GET A FREE PASS![/alert-announce]
During the event I was given a Jawbone UP24 Wireless Activity Tracker which is a wristband that when combined with its companion app, works together to help you understand how you sleep, move, eat and feel, and how those activities affect one another so you can make choices to live better. The Jawbone UP24 is always connected to the UP app (available for Android and IOS devices only), even if you leave your phone behind the UP24 is always recording all of your data in real-time, providing updates of your activity day and night and fitness progress to help you reach your sleep activity or nutrition goals. All of the data is uploaded automatically to your smartphone when you move back into Bluetooth range allowing you to be tether free and not have to worry of carrying your phone while you put in a session at the gym or go for a run.
Using the UP24 gave me such good insight into my daily behavior, from learning how much I really sleep per night, to how much I walk around or more how I don’t walk enough. I really enjoy knowing these small tidbits about myself, knowing that I normally fall asleep after only 12 minutes, or that I wake up between 3-4 times every night.
The more I use the UP24 band the more comfortable I feel with it. The band is water resistant for those heavy workouts and most of all it is easy to take off and put on. I barely feel the band on my wrist. The UP24’s battery last over 7 days and can be easily recharged. Just remove a cap on the band and plug it into the USB connector for a few hours.
I am really glad I got the chance to get a UP24 from Jawbone and I know it has become one piece of wearable tech that I will put to great use. I highly recommend you pick one up, although the price is a bit steep at $149.99 it is worth it especially if you enjoy tracking your personal data from day to day.
