Wow. I’m living a dream! A vacuum and steam mop in one and it works fantastically! Yes, it’s true. Bissell has designed an all-in-one hardwood floor steam cleaner and vacuum – yes, it vacuums and steam cleans at the same time!
I have several vacuums and even several steam mops, but this one does something the others can’t – it can cut my work in half! If you have pets, children, or a husband like mine who wears his boots in the house, then you know that by the time you vacuum or sweep the floor and get out the steam mop, there’s already dirt on the floor again. Many times that means stopping to sweep up the new debris or just steaming over it. With the Bissell Symphony™, there’s no time for that – it vacuums and steam mops at the same time.
The Bissell Symphony™ is best for sealed hard flooring such including vinyl, marble, ceramic tile, laminate, stone, and hardwood floors. Steam cleaning is not recommended for unsealed wood floors. To avoid a disaster, check the care instructions from your flooring manufacturer and use it in an inconspicuous area it’s always best to test an inconspicuous area and the first time.
How Does the Work?
Bissell paired a floor steam cleaner that heats in as fast as 30 seconds with a powerful cyclonic action vacuum that picks up dust and debris in one pass. The vacuum picks up the dirt and the steam cleaner steams and sanitizes the floor without chemicals.
The Symphony arrives in just two pieces which click together easily. A well-marked handle release lets you lengthen the handle and on-board instructions tell you how to fill the water for steam as well as how to remove the mop, empty the dirt cup, and fill the water chamber. These well-placed icons and instructions mean that anyone will be able to use it even after we’ve lost the instruction booklet, which we always do.
The unit is lightweight and easy to use. Since it didn’t seem to put out the same volume of steam my other floor steamer does, I wondered if it was working. I made the poor choice to turn it over while it was on and touch the scrubbing pad. DON’T DO THIS AT HOME! Indeed it was working and VERY HOT. Better way to check if the steamer is working? Turn off the vacuum portion and then you can hear the telltale ticking of the heat pump.
So why is there less steam? Partially because of the vacuum. It sucks up the steam that usually gets released into the air. So it’s not that there is less steam, just less billowing out from the cleaner.
Is the Bissel Symphony™ All in One Vacuum and Steam Mop the Best Floor Steam Cleaner?
For me the answer is a resounding YES! This Bissel multi-purpose steam cleaner cleans without putting too much water on the floor. That means it dries quickly and I don’t have to worry about the steam ruining my floor. Plus it vacuums under the kitchen island and into the corners with ease and it lets me choose from three cleaning options – vacuum, steam mop, or both – so I can get exactly the clean I need.

How can it vacuum and steam at the same time?
It’s all thanks to an innovative design that utilizes a powerful cyclonic action vacuum to pick up small to large, dry debris off the floor before it comes into contact with our specially designed steam foot. Steam then cuts through grease and grime to clean sticky, stuck-on messes. It wasn’t easy, but that’s why it’s the only product on the market that can vacuum and steam at the same time.
The Bissell Symphony™ may just be the best steam mop and floor cleaner out there. What do you use? Could you use the cleaning power of this new steam mop and vacuum?
