I received a T-fal FV4446 Steam Iron to facilitate this review; however, all opinions are my own.

F-fall Ultraglide Iron - Learn to love ironing - ad

I used to think that all irons sucked. More specifically, they got too hot, heated slowly, and spit water all over my clothes. Well, I was wrong! It turns out that the irons I owned were terrible, but all irons are not alike!

I’ve been test driving the T-fal FV4446 Ultraglide Easycord Steam Iron with Anti-Drip and Scratch Resistant Ceramic Nonstick Soleplate in gorgeous Garnet Red. Who knew it was possible to love ironing again?!?

So what’s to love T-fal FV4446 Ultraglide Steam Iron?

The  ultraglide soleplate has rounded edges and glides easily in all directions. I haven’t found a fabric it didn’t love – no sticking or burning. The iron feels great in my hand – heavy enough to help press out the wrinkles, but light enough not to tire me out. It’s sleek and not cumbersome in any way and has a 9′ electric cord for easy maneuverability.

I love the massive amount of steam the T-fal puts out without spitting or wetting my garments. The cord keeps out of my way and retracts into the iron for storage. I love that!  It also as 3-way auto-off with a blinking warning light if you’ve left it motionless for too long. It also features a self-cleaning system with an anti-scale valve so I can fill it right from the bathroom tap instead of heading to the kitchen for filtered water. The anti-scale feature means less clogging and a longer life – win/win!

It has a continuous steam output (more expensive models have smart steam which turns itself off when you lift the iron – a nice feature that saves on water so less fill ups) from its 9 oz water tank. Filling the iron is easy. It’s designed with a spring assisted water tank cover that is easily pulled back to fill and then replaced for ironing – that prevents water spills.

But the best part of the T-fal FV4446? The wide base – when I set it down it stays there and doesn’t tip over. Yes, for that one feature alone it’s worth the price, but the steam functions and perfect design makes it even better.

The T-fal FV4446 Iron is available online as well as nationwide at retail stores.
