Last Thursday, I attended a news briefing at the Ford Motor Company Conference & Event Center in Dearborn, Michigan. During this press conference, Ford discussed its results for 2013 and unveiled some big plans for the new year.

Ford News:  Strong Sales = Big Growth in 2014

The Executive Vice President and President of The Americas division of Ford Motor Company, Joseph Hinrichs, discussed how the company’s strong sales for 2013 will translate into big growth next year. Ford plans to roll out 23 new vehicles in 2014 – debuting more vehicles in one year than the company has done in more than a century. Due to this increase in production, Ford is opening three new manufacturing facilities – one in Brazil and two in China – and plan to create 5,000 new jobs here in the United States.

Ford News:  New Technologies

This momentum is being propelled in part by many of the technologies that Ford is developing for its new vehicles. In addition to both its existing and developing driver-assist technologies, Ford is also continuing to expand its fuel efficient features, adding two new EcoBoost engines to its lineup next year and rolling out Auto Start-Stop in more vehicles.
