Misfit Shine Physical Activity Monitor Review - ad

For the first time in my life, I am truly conscious about how I treat my body. When I was given the opportunity to make a life changing decision, I took it. Now I am vowing to make the most of this new opportunity by treating myself better. One way I have held myself accountable for my actions is by tracking the food I eat and my daily fitness.

I recently tested a new fitness tracker, the MISFIT Shine. I’m impressed not only with myself but with my Shine. I have never used a fitness tracker before and I didn’t really understand why I would need one but after trying out my Shine I don’t think I could go on without one.

MISFIT Shine: Features

Here are some of the highlights to Shine that make it stand out among other fitness trackers. The Shine comes in a sleek design that can be worn in many different ways. The Shine is sold ala cart so you buy only the pieces you need. The Shine Activity Tracker, the small disc, retails for $99. Then add a bracelet, clip, or necklace to  use it. I have the waterproof Sports Wristband ($19.99) so that I can wear it 24/7.

The other big plus for the Shine is that it’s a waterproof device that’s a pedometer, work out tracker, sleep tracker, and watch all in one. These features really make the Shine stand out among other fitness trackers on the market. Plus it looks good. Instead of a clunky device, it’s sleek and no one even knows it’s anything other than a piece of jewelry.

I really like that I can just tap my Shine and I know the time, my progress for the day, and I can start a workout or register that it’s bedtime so it knows to switch to sleep monitor mode. I find the sleep tracker to be one of my favorite features of my Shine, I appreciate logging into my phone app every morning to see how much deep sleep I received as well as how many calories I burned the day before.

MISFIT Shine: Room for Growth

With all of these great features there is still some things I would love to see my Shine do. For example, I wish my Shine worked with my food tracking website and that it could sync though my wireless internet instead of with my blue tooth so that I could access my app on my computer instead of being limited to my phone. These are again just some of the things I would like to have the ability to do with my Shine. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Shine and I will continue to use it to help keep me on track with my continued fitness goals.

If you are in the market for a fitness tracker that can be worn on any part of your body, including in the shower and at the pool, then the Shine is a great option. I love the simplicity of the design and I absolutely love that my current status for the day is only two taps away.
