I fell in love with Bernat’s Handicrafter Cotton yarn in a variegated color called Harvest and decided I wanted to make a table scarf with it. I searched for a pattern and finally settled on CroCreations Infinity Scarf pattern. Because I was using a cotton yarn and I wanted a tight knit pattern, I opted to use a size E crochet hook instead of the H hook the pattern calls for. Otherwise I followed the pattern exactly only I ended it at the length of my table which is about 3′.
The pattern shows off the variegated yarn beautifully and the yarn is much more beautiful than the photos shows. It’s a wonderful mix of fall colors and being cotton, it has a wonderful lightweight feel to it. It’s washable and perfect for a Thanksgiving tablescape or on an entry way table where I have it now. It’d also make a great gift!

This pattern may be a little difficult for a new crocheter, but once you figure out the pattern it’s super simple and really quick. The table scarf took me about 2 hours from start to finish and looks fabulous. The colors are muted, fall colors in person and not so Juicy Fruit. It’s a really nice combination.
I love the pattern and may make an Infinity Scarf for myself next time in an acrylic/wool blend, but I’d probably make it thinner – it’s too wide for me for a scarf. I also did a basket in this yarn which I’ll photograph and share as soon as I remember where I put it. I’m also working on hats to donate to a Seattle homeless shelter I’ll have for you soon as well.
What are you working on? I’d love to see your crochet or craft projects!

Beautiful colors in your project. I started using the Bernat Cotton yarn this summer for a bag and adore it. Really strong colors and great quality. Looking forward to seeing your other project.
I love the yarn and am hooked on the cotton version. But I’ve switched to a wool blend for winter.
I really like your Pretty Crocheted Thanksgiving Table scarf. You did a really great job in making it look so festive!
Ah, thanks so much!
