Get ready for a blast from the past, throughout the month of October Target is having sale of classic Halloween themed breakfast cereals. You guessed it, classics like Count Chocula, Franken Berry, and Boo Berry, they are also adding in two other classics, Frute Brute and Fruity Yummy Mummy. These cereals have the classic packaging from when they were initially released, so when I first tried looked at the boxes they really brought me back to when I was just a kid. Nothing like having marshmallows with your cereal. Out of all of these I had never tried Frute Brute and Fruity Yummy Mummy, so I was glad I got to try them now. I don’t normally eat cereal for breakfast anymore, seriously who has the time, normally I just grab a protein bar and hit the road.
But when I sat down to try these out I felt like I could just take my time eating, it was weird how relaxing it was just looking at the classic box and remembering when I use to eat cereal. Each one of the Monster Cereals has it’s own classic and unique cover instantly recognizable by anyone who has eaten the cereal in the past. One of the surprising was that all the breakfast Monster cereals had marshmallows in them, I never actually thought about that particular fact when I was kid. But I guess that was one of the things that made them so appealing perhaps, I felt like I was not only having cereal but eating candy as well. Each one of the Monster Cereals also has it’s own unique flavor, at least the ones I got which were Fruity Yummy Mymmy, Frute Brute, and Boo-Berry.
Eating the General Mills Monster cereals was a very nostalgic experience, and seeing them in their retro packaging was also unexpectedly nice. It shows that classic designs are still as fun to see and have as modern ones. It was very cool to see them being brought back for the month of October and celebrate Halloween with them, making some treats with each one will be it’s own fun adventure, I just hope I can leave some for any trick or treater’s that come knocking on my door. You can buy the General Mills Monster cereal in their retro packaging throughout October or until supplies last at your local Target stores, so you still have time to grab a box of these and take them home. Also if you buy three of the General Mills Monster cereals in a single shopping trip at Target in October (until Oct. 31st) you will receive a free Monster Bash magazine full of recipes, tips and tricks to create amazing treats for the upcoming Halloween.
