I received a TripMate Wireless N Portable Travel Router to facilitate this review
I have for you today a very small package that can packs a whole lot inside, the[All-in-1] HooToo® TripMate Wireless N Portable Travel Router (5200mAh Power Bank, USB Storage Wi-Fi Media Sharing, Access Point, Wi-Fi Mini Router & Bridge). Now usually nowadays when I buy anything I don’t really bother to pick up the instruction manual; I usually go straight to using the device and learning how to use it, playing it by ear. But in this case the TripMate Wireless N Portable Travel Router is something that required a little reading because of its many different features.
TripMate Wireless N Portable Travel Router Features
The TripMate Wireless N Portable Travel Router has so many different features that I was just flabbergasted, from setting it as a Wireless modem/router, or a Network USB sharing device, to linking it with your phone via app. There is little this portable router cannot do. Setting the HooToo® TripMate Wireless N Portable Travel Router to bridge mode (one of the featured modes) allowed me to set up a wireless broadcast (hotspot) with a secure name and password. Which is great for whenever I want to set up a LAN party but don’t want to share my Router info with the people that come to play, or for when I am in a hotel or internet café and prefer to have a little connection privacy. I can also attach it to my regular router and it actually creates a secondary network with its own SSID and password essentially giving me two separate networks that I can access and share with. As a router the TripMate Wireless N Portable Travel Router worked very nicely, providing a stable connection for all my devices inside my apartment. I had 3 devices hooked up together and the connection was stable and I had no lag issues during, so the TripMate Wireless N Portable Travel Router packs the power needed to create a solid network for anyone to use.
The HooToo® TripMate Wireless N Portable Travel Router can also work as a USB media sharing device, just by plugging in any portable USB memory stick, or external hard drive (through the Tripmate’s USB port), I can share photos, music, and video files with any of my mobile devices. All I needed to do was install the HooToo Tripmate app (available for IOS, and Android devices) on my phone and any files I have on my portable drive can be instantly transferred over to my phone. Pretty handy if you have files you need to share with multiple people and don’t want to pass around the USB to each person one at a time.
And the last main feature from the HooToo® TripMate Wireless N Portable Travel Router is that it also works as a portable backup battery for your device. It isn’t as powerful as other portable batteries in the market available right now, only 5200mAh, which translates to recharging your device at least 2-3 times before the Tripmate itself needs to be recharged. But it works as easy as just plugging it in to your mobile device, and the HooToo® TripMate Wireless N Portable Travel Router USB port will automatically start charging your device, and since it is so small and light it is perfect for travel cases and or laptop bags on those long road trips or vacations.
The HooToo® TripMate Wireless N Portable Travel Router is quite the impressive device, bristling with features and fitting in the palm of my hand. The Tripmate can be a secure wireless router, a portable USB storage sharing device, and a backup battery. If you pass a lot of time traveling and using public Wi-Fi, I highly recommend picking this little beauty up, with its ability to create a secure wireless hotspot the Tripmate gives you just the right amount of peace of mind you need when you put your computer and files to use in a public area. With X-mas around the corner Tripmate wireless router makes a good gift to give to someone who spends a lot of time either on the road or using public Wi-Fi.
