StoryToys provided me with a free Chug Patrol: Ready to Rescue download to facilitate this review, but all opinions are 100% mine.

You might recall my preschooler’s obsession with trains, so it won’t come as a surprise to you that Chuggington is one of his favorite TV shows. Even his non-train-loving friends like to watch those cute, brightly colored trains chugging and whistling around Chuggington. We were delighted to discover a new app called Chug Patrol: Ready to Rescue featuring an interactive storybook that highlight our favorite train friends. Even the baby likes to watch us play. 😉

Toddler Apps

The “Chug Patrol” app features Wilson as he proves to be a brave new hero of the rails, and Brewster and Koko move up to advanced training, taking lessons from new mentors and helping with more important tasks. Children can read or listen to the story, and then turn the page to see a 3D pop-up scene magically unfold. They can then join in the action for themselves, all while earning Chug Patrol badges for their collection. Readers will ride along with Koko as she masters speed control and braking, build new track in the forest with Brewster, make a daring rescue from the mine with Wilson, save Emery when his brakes fail, and much more.

“Chuggington” is an action-packed, animated train series for children. It follows the adventures of three young trainees – Wilson, Brewster and Koko – as they take on exciting challenges that test their courage, speed and determination. The “Chug Patrol: Ready To Rescue” app is available now in the Apple App Store, Google Play and Amazon Appstore for $4.99 on smartphones and tablets.

“Chug Patrol: Ready to Rescue” includes the following rich features:

  • Amazing 3D book experience – it’s just like a real pop-up book.
  •  Nine interactive pop-up scenes with exciting games and puzzles.
  • Fully narrated in multiple languages by original actors from the series.
  • Read to Me, Read it Myself, and Autoplay modes.
  • 21 beautifully presented pages of text.
