Popular Fall Recipes
Most of the current popular fall recipes are heavy comfort foods which is pretty standard as the weather begins to chill. There’s also a football tailgate feeling to them as well.
The surprise stand out? Maybe the Crock Pot General Tso Chicken. Really??? In the slow cooker? That’s one recipe I’m going to have to read up on before I try it.
I may be trying the southern-style fried chicken soon. My mom mentioned the other day that she’s never really had it and it’s never too late to try something you’ve been thinking about. Perhaps I’ll make the slow cooker mashed potatoes, but really, they only take 20 minutes on the stove so I’m not sure if it’s worth pulling out the crock pot for them.
What are your go-to fall recipes?

Thank you for this luscious list of tempting Autumn offerings. The plan is to work my way through all 13 of them – and with THREE (deliciously) down so far – we are making very happy and satisfying progress.
First round was a Sunday/Game Day gathering with a few friends and neighbors were we (I) tested out both the:
LOADED NACHOS: A sure hit – even by those who were initially skeptical about the lack of MEAT in it. Prounounced by all to be delish and devoured (and appreciated by wives looking for sneaky ways to cut down on meat in hubbies’ diets…) AND
BACON CHEESE PULL-APARTS : (I know, I know to make up for the relative healthiness of the Nachos…) Again – (and I almost hate to admit this to myself) : decadently delicious and almost instantly devoured (disappeared first in fact.)
and finally, just this morning (pre-Bears v Lions game) made the Breakfast Quesadillas for well, breakfast /brunch (we both love “Mexican”) and it was 100% Hubby/Honey approved. We both agreed that it was naturally amenable to endless variations and tweaks – which is always a plus in my book and which I do anyway in any and all circumstances. (One of my guiding principles in life is: USE WHAT YOU HAVE TO INVENT WHAT YOU NEED (Want, Love, etc…) Thanks Connie.
Wow – but you didn’t invite me! 🙂 Thanks for the roundup. I’m sick in bed today and so not cooking for me.
