This fall the trend is denim on denim, but for me that means it’s business as usual. Denim is my favorite fabric because of its durability, wearability, and quite frankly if you’re a plus size woman like me, it’s the kindest fabric in that it hides a multitude of sins.
While the trend has been stretchy, body clinging fabric most of the summer, which frankly is the worst fabric any overweight woman can wear, and since it doesn’t breathe can be uncomfortable in the heat, I for one am glad to see denim making a big comeback this fall. It’s breathable, comes in many different weights and colors, and denim can be worn any season – winter darks and black denim and spring and summer colored jeans and denim skirts.
Denim packs beautifully for travel and arrives ready-to-wear and it can be dressed up with pearls, heels, and a blazer or taken the casual route with a sweater and flats.

What doesn’t work, but is still in great condition, can get a new life through donation. Then pick up a few key pieces to get you ready for fall.
What’d I buy? I’m a very casual dresser. Working from home makes it much too easy to stay in PJs all day. I’m trying to commit to getting dressed everyday so I’ve purchased some carefree long-sleeved and short-sleeved tees and some dark colored yoga pants to wear around the house. They’re constructed well enough to wear to the store if I need to run out for the day and they’re a big step up from my usual attire.
So what do you wear and how are you planning for fall weather?
