Disney has provided airfare and accommodations. All opinions are my own.
I’m in Hollywood to take part in a fun event put on by Disney and tonight we spent some time with the Disney Consumer Products group. They’re the people in charge of merchandising a movie so that movie goers can continue their experience with the characters after they leave the theater. To celebrate the Diamond release of The Little Mermaid, great new merchandise is showing up in stores now and I got a chance to check out a few of the products and I’ll be bringing home a few to giveaway too!
Ariel Collection by Sephora
My first impression of the new Little Mermaid Limited Edition merchandise is that while the kids line is still very strong, the tween, teen, and adult line has really improved. The new Ariel Collection by Sephora makeup and nail color line looks fabulous and while they’re still using synthetic fragrances and other chemicals I won’t use, I can’t help but fawn over the packaging. If they someday change to a more natural product I’ll be all over them.
The make-up and nail products are themed from their colors right down to their names. The 6-pack of nail colors (the number of sisters Ariel has) include: – Life Is In The Bubbles (iridescent glittery shimmer), Ariel (glittery turquoise), Off The Hook (pearly silver chrome), Devotin’ to Floatin’ (pearlescent teal) , We Are In Luck Here (creamy coral red), and Hotter Under the Water (creamy plum) – the limited edition set is $24.50. The line also includes a parfum aptly named “Kiss the Girl” ($19 & $58), with notes of Bergamot, Wet Cucumber, Ozonic Accord, Water Notes, Wild Lilac, Starfruit, White Musk, Sandalwood, Ambergris. The scent is fresh and clean and very grown up.
But many of my favorite products from tonight’s preview turned out to be Hot Topic Little Mermaid exclusives. Several fun racer back tanks and tees, including the “Keep Calm and Kiss the Girl” t-shirt are on the site. Plus the small Ariel bag I love turns out is a shopper tote and it’s under $5!
There are additional items we didn’t see at the preview – like a Little Mermaid bra that is adorable and Eric and Ariel leggings. Much of the exclusive line is available online and in stores and several are currently on sale.
