Honey-Blackberry Greek Yogurt Dip Recipe
Chef Denton is allowing us to share several of his recipes to celebrate that American’s are working at improving what they eat – here’s his second recipe. Honey-Blackberry Greek Yogurt Dip served with Smartfood Cinnamon Brown Sugar Multigrain Popped Chips or fresh fruit.
- 3 Cups Greek yogurt
- ½ pint blackberries, fresh or frozen
- 3 Tbls Honey
- 2 Tbls fresh lemon juice
- 1 Pinch Salt
- In a medium bowl, smash the blackberries with a fork.
- In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the yogurt, honey, lemon and salt.
- When ready to serve, spoon the blackberry mixture into the center of the yogurt then gently fold the blackberries into the yogurt. Don't completely combine the two.
- Serve with Smartfood Cinnamon Brown Sugar Multigrain Popped Chips or fresh fruit
I’d use it as a fruit dip. I bet it’s good with apple slices.
Those blackberries look so delicious! I haven’t had any at all this year.
Blackberries! My all-time favorite fruit. I don’t buy any other kind of jam (for myself, anyway), and I love blackberries in any way, shape or form. This sounds FABULOUS. Guess what I’m having for desert tonight? Connie, you’ve done it again. (Think I’ll spoon it over 1/2 a cantaloupe and just go to town!
On a cantaloupe? Interesting. Let me know how you like it.
First off – we just tried the Brown Rice Triscuits over this Holiday weekend (the one with the Red Beans) and they were SO good that my Honey/Hubby almost ate the whole box before I have a chance to do anything with them or serve with any dip or spread.
The next time I buy some I WILL try this tempting recipe.
As for reinventing classic recipes – that’s pretty much a way of life for me – or the basis of all my cooking and food preparation!
First I always try to element any unnecessary and unhealthy ingredients, reduce the fat and sodium and wherever possible replace empty carbs with whole grains.
And then I pretty much always like to tweak and enhance the flavors with additions like Feta, chopped nuts (or roasted sunflower seeds) a few sliced or chopped olives, grape or sundried tomatoes, a splash of balsamc, or dry sherry – or even just a squeeze of lemon.
We grow fresh herbs year ’round and they really make meals shine!
Thanks!
This is a healthy and delicious Yogurt dip to have in the summer when it is hot outside. I like greek yogurt and I know that I will love this easy recipe to make.
Super easy to make and it would be delicious just as a yogurt or with additional fresh fruit too!
This sounds sounds so delicious and quite refreshing. I will have to try this soon, I love that Greek yogurt has so much protein in it.
A LOT of protein and so delicious!
