Aura Cacia’s Ylang Ylang essential oil products are among my favorites. I own many of their essential oils that I use almost daily, and I chose them after a lot of research on the purest essential oils available. They make a wide variety of oils including blue cypress, cassia bark (cinnamon), cedarwood, chamomile, cinnamon leaf, sweet basil, fir needle balsam, carrot seed, lavender, inspiring lemongrass, orange sweet/Citrus sinensis, freshening lime, spearmint, cleansing rosemary, and so very, many, more. My favorite? Peppermint! They’re a company I’m confident in because they’ve been around since the 80’s so they’re an established company and not one jumping on the essential oil bandwagon.
Essential Oils: For your Body
Among my picks is their heady Aura Cacia Pure Essential Oil Ylang Ylang, it’s the heart of their Choose Calm Collection, and it’s so versatile! Just and up to 18 drops of essential oils it to an ounce of sweet almond oil for a DIY natural perfume (I stopped wearing synthetic fragrances years ago when I found out how harmful they are – now I have an alternative!). Store in an aromatherapy roller-ball applicator or glass vial (see below for our picks).
You can also put 1-2 drops of the essential oil on your pillow for a restful night, though I use the Panic Button Mist spray for my linens. It’s fabulous! I’ve even spray it on my pajamas on especially tough nights when it seems like I’m never going to get to sleep.
If you’d like a relaxing bath, use Aura Cacia’s Mineral Bath Salts or Aromatherapy Foam or make your own bath aromatherapy mix by adding 7-10 drops of Ylang Ylang to your bath water. I’m not a bath girl, so I was thrilled to see they have Aromatherapy shower tablets! These tablets have the same 100% pure, organic essential oils as the bath products but in an effervescent tablet. I’m going to have to try those!
For those of you sweating out summer already, make your own cooling mist with 16 drops of Ylang Ylang and 32 drops of bergamot oil in 8 ounces of filtered water. Pour into a fine misting bottle and keep it in the fridge for a cooling refreshing spray. It’s easy to use, shake, spray, relax, and enjoy!
Their Skin Care Oil with Jojoba is fabulous! Without provocation, my husband started massaging my feet with it. Soon they were as soft and smooth as they are after a pedicure! Plus it was a fabulous bonding time for us. He’s already done it for a second time – I think he enjoys the feel of the oil on his dry hands as much as I love it on my feet!
Essential Oils: Scent Your Home Naturally
Also, check out their aromatherapy room diffuser; it’s how I scent my home. I live with a firefighter who doesn’t allow open flames, so this is the next best thing. It creates naturally scented air that’s not overpowering, isn’t synthetic, and adds beauty to my life. The scent needs to be reapplied every 3-4 days, and it’s easy to do – use one or a mix. Plus you can change out the scent just by changing the diffuser pad – refills are available separately.
With these natural products, you can relax naturally and enjoy the calming benefits of aromatherapy. Just use quality essential oils and you’ll reap the benefits!

DIY Aromatherapy Products I Recommend
I always choose glass for my essential oil aromatherapy recipes. It doesn’t absorb odor, leach chemicals into my oils, and they’re easy to clean and reuse. I always choose a dark glass to protect oils from sunlight which can break them down. Now you don’t have to settle for Amber – aromatherapy bottles are available in a rainbow of colors. These are a few I’ve used and loved.
