I recently had the privilege of screening the new Disney Fairy movie [amazon_link id=”B007MDB548″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Secret of the Wings[/amazon_link]. My friend Melissa and her 4 year old daughter, Nola, attending the preview with me. We settled into our seats with our popcorn and 3D glasses as the lights dimmed.
We start in Pixie Hollow with all the tinker fairies building snowflake baskets for the winter fairies. Tinker Bell realizes that there is an entire world separate from Pixie Hollow and wonders what it could be like. The next day Tinker Bell assists her friend with escorting the animals of Pixie Hollow over to the Winter Lands for hibernation.
Across the river is a log that separates Pixie Hollow and the Winter Lands. Tinker Bell being herself is curious of this new land and quickly hops over into the Winter Lands unprepared for the cold. She notices that her wings light up with this beautiful sparkle and becomes distracted by this new found talent. Tinker Bell doesn’t realize that her friends are yelling for her to come back because it’s forbidden to go into the Winter Lands.
Tinker Bell heads back home more curious then before and begins to wonder why her wings sparkled. Researching her new discovery she finds herself in the library with a book that has the answer to her question, but alas, the page she needs was eaten by a bookworm. With tons of questions, Tinker Bell comes up with a plan to head back to the Winter Lands to speak to the author of the Wing Book so she can understand why her wings sparkled.

What Tinker Bell finds in the Winter Lands will change her life forever.
Nola loved everything about the movie but she did note that her favorite part was when they fairies flew around the butterflies and Melissa loved that it was an age appropriate kids movie that held her and her daughters attention. I loved the 3D affect and I caught myself laughing throughout the movie. It’s a cute addition to any Disney movie collection.
