Looking for a fun and entertaining weekend read? Released on September 4th, The Marriage Bargain by Jennifer Probst is one of my favorite new books. Available in paper and electronic formats, this book has made a name for itself. Listed on Amazon’s top reads as well as the New York Times Best Sellers list, this book did not disappoint.
Alexa McKenzie owns her own book shop which unfortunately is in need of some upkeep and her parents are about to lose their home. Alexa decides to try and conjure up a love spell that will bring her a man who will save her family’s home. What she didn’t imagine would be that the man the spell conjures up is her best friend’s older brother.
Nicholas Ryan is about to inherit billions of dollars, but the rules state he has to marry, and he has to marry right away. Nicholas has always been afraid of commitment after seeing his parents struggle in their marriage, so he squirms at the idea of having to find a bride.
Fate brings these two very unlikely individuals into a one year commitment. Once the year is up the bargain will be over with Nicholas inheriting his money and Alexa free from her marriage that she’s agreed to in order to save her parent’s home. Both go into this relationship saying they will do everything to keep it civil, but as anyone knows, sometimes your human instincts take over. With complications arising, both parties must stick together in order to get what they need from their marriage.
