I promised to do an update on my at home laser treatment trial. I’ve now completed the full 4 weeks (it took me almost 6 because of travel) and I wanted to share it with you. (Read my first post: The PaloVia Skin Renewing Laser Review – My 30-Day Trial Experience ).
To remind you, I’ve been using the only FDA-cleared at-home laser system called the PaloVia Skin Renewing Laser. It’s a small hand-held device with a rechargeable battery that’s applied to the wrinkles around your eye once a day for 30 days and then a few times a week after that to maintain your results. The entire process takes about 5 minutes from start to finish and it’s easy. Start with a clean and dry face, apply the included PaloVia Pre-Treatment Gel to the area you’ll be treating, apply the PaloVia® laser along the line of your wrinkles (up to 25 pulses per use), then use your normal skincare products.
I’m more convinced than ever that I’m getting great results and I’m on the maintenance mode now where I use the laser just 1 to 2 times a week. I may do another full 30-days of treatment to see if I can take off a few more wrinkles.
Here are my unretouched photos:

I tried my best to shoot all of the photos at the same time of day and with the same light. While I didn’t get the pose right every time, I think you can see what I see. I huge improvement in the spidery lines that were running vertically between my bigger horizontal lines. Now when I don’t smile, I’m nearly wrinkle free. Before the smile lines were there even when I wasn’t smiling – that’s progress!

So what do you think? Can you see an improvement?
You can’t deny the improvement that is for sure but what is the yellowing of the skin that you have after the first use? Does this actually burn the skin a little bit and leave discoloring? I am curious to try this can you get one with a money back guarantee or are you pretty well just out of your money if you don’t like it or it doesn’t work?
All of the discoloration was gone within a week and there’s no signs at all that I’ve used it. I still recommend it – it’s a fabulous way to keep wrinkles at bay.
This is a great idea and I am glad that someone finally came out with it. I didn’t notice if it had been tested and approved or not though. You have a lot of information here and the before and after pictures are great. Thank you so much for putting this information out there because this is something that could help people and save them money at the same time.
Many people believe that wrinkles and stretch marks only occur when there is a rapid change in body weight, but my minor research showed me that the a change in the body’s hormonal composition is also a major causative factor. There are people who get stretch marks as a result of hormonal changes that occur from using birth control pills. Teenagers also get stretch marks during growth spurts that occur during puberty juts as men who do weight lifting.
This was really weird I had no idea that you could do this at home, nor would I really want to do it at home. I am shocked that someone would actually do this and write a blog on it. Some of the comments were humorous as well but I do have to say that you did a great job experimenting with this and you look really good afterwards.
I am surprised that I didn’t see more of a change then what there was. I thought for sure the changes would be so dramatic that you would look years younger. Granted you look great but there just wasn’t as big of a change as I thought there would be. Thank you for doing this and posting the before and after pictures that was a huge deal.
These are some incredible results, you should be very happy because you look great. Thank you for posting this because it will get the word out and there will be more ladies trying this. I think the beauty industry is not going to be very happy with the results though because it will be cheaper than going to a surgeon for this same treatment.
This is the best thing I have seen in a long time, a laser treatment that you can do at home, wow! And now you can get the light to dry your fake nails, so you can do them at home as well. Pretty soon we will be our own doctors. You can already work on your own teeth. What will they think of next, seriously though you look great.
I think it is cool that you can do this at home now and it is great that you tried it and it turned out so well for you. I can’t believe the before and after pictures they turned out absolute great. I am going to have to get one of these so thank you for mentioning where. I am fighting this age thing tooth and nail so this looks like a necessity.
Speaking of accessories or essentials, some Colombian grandmothers pass on their recipe for chicken soup, but stylist Lutz Karpf learned this instead: Combine two egg whites with half of a mashed-up avocado; You leave it in hair for 15 minutes, then wash and condition. It’s a fast and inexpensive natural remedy that leaves hair super-smooth. I just thought I’d share that with the other readers.
What about some of the other forms of skin treatments? A new treatment modality has been developed by skin specialists’ to remove skin blemishes and wrinkles. The main goal of these experts is to support natural skin regeneration. This natural procedure is known as skin-needling, micro-needling, or collagen induction therapy. I’m looking for ways to remove blemishes.
I have heard of skin care creams to fight aging but a laser at home is not something I have heard of before. Thank you for sharing this with us because I never would have believed that it could work without seeing this first. Great job I look forward to the next thing you come out with. Where is the best place to get one of these and maybe the cheapest?
Amazon.com online or Nordstrom in person. Good luck!
I think you are absolutely out of your mind to try this at home by yourself. I appreciate the fact that you took it upon yourself to be the guinea pig for this though and posted the before and after results for us. You look terrific and I hope that you continue to get even better. Thank you for your dedication and hard work. Was it painful?
Not really painful and worth it, I assure you.
Wow this looks great you did great work. I am thinking about getting one but my friend wants me to use it on her if I do. I am thinking I should charge her for the treatment just not as much as a doctor would, what do you think? I am nervous about using a laser on myself but I think I could get used to it after the first time.
I think you’d be in trouble for charging for medical services – I’d stay with doing it on your own.
The fact that you would do this to yourself at home tells me you are either very dedicated or very crazy. I can’t imagine using a laser on myself and no less on my face. You have nerves of steel because that is amazing, the difference is amazing as well and you look great. At least this you can see works where lotions and things you can’t tell.
I think you’re right about the crazy part 🙂
It is amazing to me the lengths that people will go to in order to fight the natural aging process, why do women want to look like their granddaughters best friend instead of their proud grandma? I decided a long time ago that I wasn’t going to dye my hair when it turns gray and the wrinkles are merit badges in my opinion, I know you are thinking you wait but it’s true.
I don’t want to look like my granddaughter’s best friend, but I do want to retain my skin as long as possible while still looking natural.
I think that these are great results and they are much better than the results you get from some of these highly commercialized creams and lotions that are more water than anything else. You have a great blog here and I am sure that this laxer treatment would work to remove wrinkles from other place on the body would it not? The price really isn’t bad at all.
Thank you for responding to Robert’s comment about the price and where you got the home laser. I will go check it out because I think this would be great to be able to get rid of your wrinkles all in just a short amount of time with short treatments. Thank you again for such a great post and the information you provided was much needed.
I have to think that this home laser device would have to be limited in terms of potency. That is the only way I would think the FDA would let people use a laser without the supervision of a medical professional. Otherwise, can you imagine the lawsuits that would arise after people eager to clear their wrinkles burn their faces off.
It is FDA approved and impossible to “burn your face off” unless you use it in the same location over and over which is off label.
Thankfully, I don’t think I will have to worry about wrinkle lines on my face until I reach my mid 50’s. So I still have a good 15 years to enjoy my youthful looking skin. For me, blemishes are more of a problem. Many younger people have an immediate need to clear up their skin and I wonder if this home laser treatment can work for scars or blemishes.
It’s only approved for around the eyes (crows feet) which traditionally is pimple free. I’ve never tried it on a pimple.
Connie you didn’t mention anywhere how much this laser costs did you? You received some really great results though I have to admit that. I had no idea that you could get such great results with an at home laser did you? I thought that was truly amazing and would love to have one as well, where can I get one besides online? I don’t like to buy things on the internet.
It’s in the video 🙂 $499. You can buy them locally at Nordstrom stores.
I see the difference. That is awesome how good it worked.
Thanks Toni! Well worth the little bit of temporary pain.
I didn’t even know that was possible! FANTASTIC!
Crazy, huh! Did you watch the video? Every time I see my face during the first zap I crack up.
I notice a huge difference! I would love to start taking precautions now and using something like this.
I definitely wish this had been around 10 years ago for sure!
Oh, wow! I can totally see the difference.
Crazy, huh! I’m amazed at how truly well it worked and I see now how much Meaningful Beauty did for my enormous pores. I’m going to start using it again for that.
WOW! The results are awesome!
Your results look amazing!
Thanks! I’m enjoying the changes. I’m taking a week off and then I’m going to try it again for 30 days and do some more off-label work on my forehead butt crack. 🙂
YES YES I can … Wow Connie I say that is certainly working. Will you continue to use it? Do you think you can improve more or what are your thoughts.
So excited for you. Wow looks like it took several yrs off
I will be using it from now on and yes, YEARS off 🙂 Ok, well a few. I still look 51! And yes, I’m hoping for more improvement and I’m using it off label on my forehead. 🙂
Great results.
I know, right!
Those are fantastic results. Great video Connie!
Yep, in my bathroom, bad hair, not makeup, pjs – fabulous 🙂
That’s pretty crazy to have those kind of results at home!
Pretty insane, huh.
