My room at the Hilton Garden Inn on Highland Ave, Hollywood, CA
A Great Hotel Close to Hollywood Blvd
Last month I had the pleasure of attending the red carpet premiere of Disney’s movie, BRAVE. While there we were put up at the Hilton Garden Inn on Highland Ave, just blocks from Hollywood Blvd. That proximity to this amazing historic area is the Hilton Garden Inn’s greatest asset.
Just a short 5-7 minute walk to the Hollywood Blvd attractions including Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, the former Kodak Theatre recently renamed Dolby Theatre and home to the Emmy’s, the prestigious and posh Hollywood & Highland Center which includes fine shopping and dining, as well as the legendary Hollywood Walk of Fame, the location lends itself to sightseeing and exploring. The hotel is conveniently located for car travel as well and valet parking (for a fee) is available on location.
Hilton Garden Inn Experience and Amenities
My room was well appointed and done in designer colors with a fabulous headboard complimented by a very comfortable kingsize Serta Perfect Sleeper bed, two telephones with voicemail, a 37” flat-panel HDTV with remote, a hidden microwave and refrigerator, coffeemaker, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, and MP3 capable clock radio. They also included a fabulously designed work desk with a phenomenal Mirra® desk chair by Herman Miller.
I loved the position of the electrical outlets on the desktops and the complimentary Wi-Fi internet. There is a pool, which I did not make use of, is outside of the building and across the parking lot. There’s also a workout room which I also did not take advantage of. I didn’t check out any of the other amenities with the exception of the bar and the breakfast area. For a fee, made-to-order or help-yourself breakfast foods are available and I had breakfast there on two different days and I loved the diversity of the food available.
The hotel has recently been converted and updated and the upgrades were noticeable. The lobby is bright and elegant and the 24-hr snack area carries a wide-variety of natural and healthy foods to choose from as well as crackers, chips, and drinks. The Front Desk staff was professional, courteous, friendly, and on several occasions went above and beyond for me.

It’s the little touches that may a stay magical – message and cookie during my stay at the Hilton Garden Inn
If you’re looking for a hotel within walking distance from Hollywood Blvd, give the Hilton Garden Inn a look. My experience was fabulous.

That bed looks so comfy!
I will remember this! We are heading that way in the fall! Thanks for the review!
Great Emily! There’s plenty to do in Hollywood for sure! I even walked back to the hotel at about 10pm by myself and I felt totally safe because of all the traffic.
I love the room. I would appreciate the extra outlets.
I appreciated not having to crawl around on the floor or pull out the dresser and night tables looking for an outlet – I hate that!
Looks lovely!
Looks beautiful and modern. I love small sweet touches too!
Thanks Marcie! Yes, the room was very well done and I loved crawling into that amazing bed every night!
That bed is way too awesome!
Hey HilLesha – it was amazing! So comfy and so huge – it was my office while I was there. Such a great time.
I’m really into the location of a hotel too, so I can see why that one would be appealing!
Great location! I had no idea how close it was to the Hollywood Bowl until I saw people in the elevator who looked like they were headed for picnics. After the 5th or 6th group I found out it was the Playboy Jazz Festival at the Bowl that night and that’s where they were all headed.
It looks like a wonderful play to stay!
It was – the front desk staff was very understanding about all the duplicate cards I needed (I have a habit of losing them). Great stay.
