New Taboo Game Review and GiveawayHasbro’s TABOO, the much-loved game of forbidden words, received a makeover in 2011! With a sleek new look, a game changing die, and a new “Uh-Oh!” buzzer sound, it’s up to players to frantically get their
partners to guess the winning word by avoiding the taboo phrases and words on their playing card.

So how will you get your team to say the phrase “heart throb” without being able saying “teenage,” “idol,” “movies” or “star”?  There are more than 1,000 words in the game for players to guess so the fun can go on for hours.

Playing TABOO is simple – I love that there aren’t a lot of complex rules, just a few simple ones.  Just read your card, find out the word you’re trying to get your team to guess plus the words and/or phrases you’re not allowed to use, and then get going! The buzzer is used whenever the clue giver accidentally uses one of the taboo words/phrases (or breaks one of the other rules) and then their turn is up and play switches to the other team.  The new game die adds a lot of fun and whimsy to the game.  When instructed, the clue giver rolls the die and then must complete the challenge.  For example, she may not be able to use her hands while giving clues or not speak!  Winning the game is easy.  The team with the most points wins!

We always have a great time playing TABOO and we really love the new element they added with the die.  It made a fun game even better! It’s a game without a lot of pieces, it’s quick to set up and put away, and because of all this it’s a game that travels well and it makes it a fun impromptu game choice.
