I saw an interview with Dr Snyder, the doctor that created the Fullbar program some time ago on TV, and he made so much sense that I searched them out to find more.  I don’t understand all the sience behind Fullbar, but I do know they taste good.   The active component is Slendesta, a natural potato extract created from white potatoes, which is said to replicate the same actions foods do during the digestion process and therefore sending out a fullness hormone that signals your body that you’re full.  This is supposed to help you eat less and feel full longer.

Does it work?  I didn’t lose weight but I also didn’t gain weight over the holidays and I didn’t change my eating habits.  I think if I was to concentrate on what and when I was eating in addition to using the Fullbar I’d have seen better results.  I think in the next few weeks I’ll embark on trying to lose some weight again and Fullbar will be part of my arsenal.

Fullbar consists of 100% natural ingredients and is meant to be consumed 30-minutes before a meal or as a meal or snack replacement.  As a vegetarian and someone trying to eliminate chemicals, additives, artificial colors, and the like, the Fullbar labels are refreshingly full of great ingredients.  My favorite variety, the chocolate peanut butter Fullbar’s ingredients are:  Brown Rice Syrup, Puffed Wheat Cereal (Durum Wheat, Ferric Orthophosphate, Niacinamide, Thiamine, Mononitrate, Riboflavin), Peanut Butter (Peanuts), Soy Protein Concentrate, Honey, Glycerin, Agave Syrup, Gum Arabic, Dry Roasted Peanuts, Canola Oil, Salt, Natural Flavors.  Of course, “Natural Flavors” always worries me as a vegetarian as does the glycerin, but all-in-all for a ready-to-eat diet bar, these rack up pretty well.   I do wish they were organic, especially the soy components.

The large and delicious bars, a bit like a sweet crispy rice treat, have about 180 calories and are low fat and they certainly can take the place of a sweet snack any time for me.  Up to 2 bars a day should be eaten and with each a 16-ounce glass of water.  They’re a great addition to any diet plan and they’re part of a larger program that can be purchased that includes protein shakes, gummies, savory bites, vitamins, gum, and more which can be purchased online individually or in a  90-day program pack at a discounted retail price.  I’ve also purchased individual Fullbar boxes of snack at Walmart and at Amazon.com.
