Fresh green beans are so much better tasting than canned and frozen and they’re so quick to make!  Just wash them, trim them, and boil for 4 minutes.  Want something fancier?  Here’s my go-to recipe that can be personalized to fit your taste and they’re still under 10 minutes from start to finish.

RECIPE: Quick and Easy Fresh Green Beans and Almonds
I used chopped almonds but you can use them in any form you have on hand - sliced, slivered, etc.
Prep Time:
Cooking Time:
Total Time:
  • About 1 pd fresh green beans, washed, ends trimmed, and cut into 2-3" pieces
  • 4 tbls olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • ¼ cup chopped almonds
  1. Wash, trim, and cut the green beans into 2-3" pieces. Boil in salted water for 4 minutes. Drain and dunk in cold water to stop them from cooking. Dry on paper towels or clean hand towel.
  2. In the meantime, place the garlic and oil in a saute pan and heat on medium until hot. Add almonds an green beans. Toss until heated through (about 4 mins).
