I love the character of Aibileen which is based on Kathryn Stockett’s (author) real-life caregiver. This line in the movie is one that nearly brought me to tears. It’s a powerful scene and a powerful comment and something we should all remember, especially when we’re talking to children. Children believe what we tell them. We need to be sure we’re telling them they’re good.
