The pyramids of Egypt

Here’s the son goofing around at the  pyramids at Giza .  He and his friends rode camels to them and then took goofy photos.  From right to left are the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre and hidden behind the kid is the Pyramid of Menkaure.

“From atop these pyramids, forty centuries look down upon you.”  — Napoleon Bonaparte to his soldiers before the Battle of Giza, 1798

The three smaller pyramids in the foreground are part of the  Menkaure’s pyramid.  The pyramids sit just outside of Cairo, Egypt – you can see Cairo in the right of the photo.  I think that was the most shocking things to me – this amazing piece of history right there next to a huge city – millions must have them as a daily view…I have the neighbors unmown lawn.  So not fair.
