Crystal Light Mocktails

Earlier this week I posted a lemon coleslaw recipe and talked about how it would be the perfect dish to bring to any summertime gatherings. Today, I have an idea for the perfect companion for it, new Crystal Light Mocktails, non-alcoholic “cocktails” available in three refreshing flavors — Appletini, Margarita, and Mojito.

We had the chance to try the Appletini and the Margarita varieties, which both contain only 5 calories per serving and they were both a hit. A 2-quart container of the Appletini flavor was empty within two hours, everyone loved it including my 4-year old. The margarita was a little “stronger” and tasted more like a real cocktail minus the buzz. Out of the three of us, I was the only one who really enjoyed the tart, lime flavor in the margarita mix. My husband has been sober for about five years now and the margarita beverage tasted “too real” for him. Which is great news for Crystal Light, but not so great for a recovering alcoholic ::whoops::.

As with most of the other Crystal Light drinks, the mocktails come in a multi-serve canister with five 2-quart packets in each. You simply empty the contents of one packet into a large pitcher of cold water, stir to dissolve and you’re ready to entertain! You didn’t hear it from me, but if you add a few shots of vodka, we recommend Belvedere, to the appletini beverage, you’re guests will be very, um, “happy”. But make sure you tell them it contains alcohol and only let responsible adults have a taste.

Crystal Light Mocktails are only available for a very limited time, make sure to snatch them up at your local grocer if you happen to see them. Some popular retailers they can be found in include, Fareway, Giant Eagle, Safeway, Shop-Rite, Walmart, Kroger, Vons, and more.  You can also purchase Crystal Light Mocktails mixes online at Amazon.com.
