We grill year round here, but I know there are other places where summer grilling takes on a party atmosphere.  For your next BBQ party, consider making some of these delicious and vegetarian (vegan) Black Bean Burgers.

This recipe is super easy to make, from easy to find ingredients at your local store.  If you’ve been buying frozen black bean burgers it’s time to try your own homemade recipe!  Add ingredients or subtract them to suit your particular taste.  Not a vegetarian or vegan?  You’ll love the taste and enjoy a meat-free meal which will save you money and you’ll get some great fiber and protein.

These can be made on the grill if you oil the grill well to keep them from sticking and press them together firmly.  You can also cook them in a cast-iron frying pan on the grill.  Top with salsa or your favorite traditional burger toppings.
