The biggest challenge I’ve encountered since becoming a mother four years ago is finding time to pamper myself like I used to. My mornings once consisted of a hot shower, exfoliating, moisturizing and grooming followed by at least 20-30 minutes of make-up application. Now I’m lucky if I get my bra on before leaving to drop of my daughter at school. While some things can go unnoticed at the playground such as, a month-old pedicure, a few grays popping out or ashy elbows, the one thing you can’t hide is your face. Since I obviously don’t have the time for the regimen I had B.C. (before child), I’ve come up with a 5-minute plan just to ensure that I don’t scare the other kids away. This quick ritual includes eyeliner, mascara (this is a MUST!), a dab of concealer, loose powder (bronzer in the winter) and subtle lip color.
I had major surgery last month which is why I need the concealer; to cover up the scars. In addition to the incision on my skin, I also had one on my upper lip, which is still currently healing. My surgeon advised that the swelling and numbness will last a minimum of six months. Until then, I have to be very cautious as to what goes on my face particularly my lips, the most sensitive area. When I want to doll it up a bit, I trade in the Vaseline for Burt’s Bees all-natural Tinted Lip Balm. Other lip colors I’ve tried have irritated the area making me look and feel anything but beautiful.
Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balms offer just a hint of color (and taste) while moisturizing and conditioning your lips. Each available color goes on light, not waxy, and the color is a just a slight sheer tint so you never feel overdone.
Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm comes in six different shades which are all made of 100% natural ingredients including Shea Butter, Sunflower Oil, Flower Wax and more. For a full list, please visit Burt’s Bees web site . My favorite shades so far are Hibiscus and Honeysuckle. Each tube costs only $7 and can be found online or in your local drugstore or beauty supply shop. The best deals I’ve found have been the Burt’s Bee’s all-natural Tinted Lip Balms duo-packs on Amazon.
For a limited time you can “send” a friend a FREE Natural Beauty Bloom on the Burt’s Bees Facebook page to tell them why you think they are a natural beauty during the Lips Go Bloom Campaign. For every bloom sent online, Burt’s Bees will donate $1 to the Pollinator Partnership which you can read more about here.
