Vegetables for breakfast? Yep, and they were delicious!
Today was tough. I had an unintentional online drama that upset me and made me reach out for food, but I was able to stop myself before I ate anything off plan. I was pretty proud of myself for finding a distraction (riding my stationery bike) instead of eating.
You probably wonder why I take photos of my food. Well, because I have trouble remembering what I ate, even if it’s been just a few minutes since I ate it. I thank my MS addled brain for that. And, because I hope to start cooking within the Weight Watchers plan more and I want to share them here. The hubby went grocery shopping for a few staples so I may try out a recipe or two tomorrow. A fellow blogger posted a recipe for homemade Tomato soup that’s on plan. You can find it at Accidental Mommies. It looks delicious and is on my list of recipes to try.
I didn’t take many photos today because the hubby commandeered my camera. What’d he do with it? He took photos of his 1982 Datsun pickup. He’s having to rebuild something in the motor, again, head gasket or intake valve, don’t ask me :). He’s labeled everything and he’s taken photos, so when he puts it back together hopefully it’ll still run.

Hubby's photo - car parts
The funny thing is, my camera automatically uploads the photos as they’re taken via my wi-fi to my Flickr account and to my hard drive on the laptop (thanks to Eye-fi!). As I worked I saw all of his photos being loaded to my computer. Photo after photo of boring pieces of his truck engine, this popped up….

My silly but sweet husband - exactly what I needed today to make me smile
Is it any wonder I still love the guy after 30 years? What a goof ball.

NotesI don’t drink milk but I do eat yogurt. It always bugs me that I leave those boxes unchecked. I’ve been out of the vegetarian yogurt I like for a few days, but I get enough dairy (I hope!) from supplements and green leafy vegetables. There are so few vegetarian-friendly yogurts available from regular grocery stores. I’m glad Safeway carries Mountain High. I just wish they had an organic/vegetarian brand I like. I’ve tried all of the ones they carry and didn’t like them. Same with Greek Yogurt. I know lots of people love it, but I just can’t get over how thick it is. Who knows, some day maybe I will. I’d have sworn a month ago I’d never eat vegetables for breakfast! Things change!
My soy milk also has calcium. I drink a different organic brand, but it has the same points and I’m to lazy to enter it so I use what’s already in the database. |
I LOVE the light chocolate soy milk! Thanks for sharing my recipe, I hope you enjoy it, I make it at least twice a week.
BTW your breakfast looked YUMMY.
Love your meal plan — its’ very similar to what my nutritionist had me on when I was working at losing weight.
I’ve never seen vegetarian yogurt before! But, I lurrrrve greek yogurt — I’m a fan of the thickness. 🙂
Keep up the good work. I think you are doing a great job.
I love veggies for breakfast!
Good for you being accountable to everyone. I need to get back on track today.
